It contains a Kurdish poem of praise in #Syriac characters.

  2. Nyob zoo xyoo tshiab! Happy Hmong New Year. The sounds of jingling coins, tonal chatter, and music from Southeast Asia signal the end of the harvest season and the beginning of a new year. —Tori Wong
I’ve always thought that the arbitrary and insignificant date of Jan 1 was a terrible time to declare and celebrate the new year. It has no historical or astronomic significance - it just makes no sense to me. It’s in the middle of freaking Winter FFS. I’m much more inclined to celebrate #Nowruz the Persian new year when Spring begins, or the #Hmong new year at the end of the harvest season. #NewYear #Calendars
