  1. The incredible #NiagaraFalls in a way you're probably not used to seeing them - frozen, frosted over, and with the thick icicles hanging off the rocks.

If you look closely you'll see the large gulls flying around the turbulent waters, dwarfed by the scale of the nearby rocks.

  2. This is one of my favourite images I've ever taken - a pivotal moment in how I saw my images, and a moment that marked a moment of progression in my journey in the #Art of #Photography

I took it while balanced on the edge of a cliff, capturing what was a gloomy canyon scene before we were blown away as the sun cut through the overcast skies. Illuminating the mist and the damp foliage below.

  3. #WaterWednesday is here and I have a very dramatic shot to share.

I've revived this edit from my archives recently - a scene I captured back in 2023 while exploring the Canadian #Mountains near #Canmore. I had a friend that wanted to checkout this creek and I'm glad I followed his lead.

Anyone that has visited Canmore will surely recognize the iconic Three Sisters Peaks here.

  8. New Photos? YES! New Photos.

I'm finally catching up - This image was taking this past February during an incredible foggy week. I named it after the tree shown on the cover of #EldenRing because well, it reminded me greatly of it. Such an incredible and cool tree to find.

If you want to see others, I just uploaded about 20 other frames to my site last night.

  9. Mount Monolith might be part of the most unique mountain ranges I've visited.

In the high northern Tundra these mountains weren't formed by your usual tectonic plates pushing up on each other, but by the volcanoes that erupted underneath ancient glaciers, freezing them in time as enormous black vertical walls, with column like pillars extending across the ridge lines.

  10. It only took me two years - but, I've finally published my Drakensberg Trip Report Blog, recounting favourite and daily memories from my multi-day #BackPacking trip across the #SouthAfrica #Mountain range.

If you'd like to read about it, and see some of the accompanying images, you can checkout the blog here!

  11. For : Mount Cheam (Lhílheqey) and the Fraser River in the early evening - in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada.

  12. A favourite image from my #BackPacking trip to #Yukon in 2022.

I had planned the trip for end of August hoping we would be on the trail during the incredible transition from summer to fall colours - we may have arrived a week early, but, on our hike out the colours really started to show creating this gorgeous rainbow like patterns across the slopes. Reds, greens, yellows, purples, and oranges!

  13. Happy #MountainMonday everyone :)

Today I share a favourite from a trip years ago into the high mountains of the Assiniboine Range in #Canada during fall when the golden larches were at their absolute peak. The golden larches dotting the landscape in golden colouring at every turn.

Highly recommend backpacking this region. It is absolutely stunning.

  18. Citadel (2022)

I edited this image last night. I've been trying to crack it's puzzle for years and failed, struggling with it's colours and tones. I desperately wanted an epic shot here when I visited #Yukon in 2022, I'd scoured maps to find a suitable foreground for this peak. But, the weather didn't co-operate the day-of.

I am thrilled to finally share it.

  23. The Sphinx II (2022)

I took this shot in the high alpine meadows just south of #Jasper #Alberta, in a park that few actually visit in this mountain region. My sibling had suggested we go backpacking through this area on a weekend trip we had the opportunity to enjoy together.

This scene was without a doubt, the highlight of our hike as summited the ridge to see this sweeping valley.

  28. For #MountainMonday I have this photograph of Mount Woodside in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. I was there to photograph eagles (mrussellphotography.com/blog/b) but these clouds around the treed slopes were too good to pass up!

  33. Apricity (2022): the warmth of the sun.

Although some definitions suggest it is specific to the warmth of the sun in the Winter, I've always just know it as the warmth of the sun on a cold day.

Despite the summer look, I took this photo on a cool October day. The cool air of the coastal #PNW warmed slightly by the afternoon light that barely cutting through the #Forests canopy as I walked down the trails.

  38. The Light We Cannot See (2022)

I named this image after a statement a friend made upon seeing it. We had gotten up early and met at a local park with the intent of shooting #landscapephotography together - at the end of the day they felt that had failed to capture an image, and, upon seeing my image asked to purchase a print of it as a reminder of the things we fail to see.

  39. This tree has sadly fallen over since I took this image, but, to think of how incredible this tree was when it was alive, before it was hollowed out by a fire. At its death, the tree was over 1.5m in diameter! That's thick!
