  1. Life has been busy this summer - while failing to sleep last night I realized it's been over 6months since I've last been backpacking... I've not back country camped for this long since before I was 20.

I'm quite positive at the moment, that the state of my mental health out life outlook are directly correlated to this fact. Here's hoping I can sneak out for a weekend at the end of this month 🤞

  2. Colorado is celebrating its 150th birthday today. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude to be able to call a part of this state home, where I can venture out on any given day and discover beautiful places that fill my heart.

  3. Falls of Eva

This is easily one of the most incredible #Waterfalls I have access to. A short 9km distance from a parking lot is this gorgeous place that provides endless exploration. Falls of Eva is the best and my most favourite image I have taken here. It reminds me of peace, of releasing fear, and breathing in the spark and excitement of life. The energy is contagious here.

  4. Managed to get out early morning before work, enjoyed the #rain, hiked directly to this spot, hoping to get some #fog and got rewarded. I know I'll be back many times to get the light I'm after, still absolutely gorgeous day and location.

  5. Arishiyama Forest, Japan

Maybe the most iconic bamboo #Forest in the world, my partner and I decided to succumb to the tourist classic and visited this iconic location. I'm not sure it's as glamorous as online sites make it appear - but, it certainly is still beautiful.

  6. I simply could not believe this arrangement when I discovered this scene. I spent hours quietly absorbing its beauty and working my final composition. Vancouver’s North Shore temperate rainforest.

  7. Quarry Oasis

From the outflow of a now abandoned quarry mine, you can still see the remnants of rust staining caused by the structures that used to exist at this outflow decades ago while the mine was active. Small circles can be seen stained into the granite rock side . Now, a beautiful blue river instead.

  8. Hi Mastodonians, time for #introduction

My name is Daniel, I'm a A West Coast #Canada photographer with lifelong weakness for #photography / #videography / video editing / color grading and music. Searching for secrets in the local #Vancouver 's North Shore #rainforest has defined my last few years. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface, if anything, my connection to these forests has only deepened.

  9. It's #MountainMonday lets celebrate #Yukon today!

On this multi-day backpacking trip we had maybe 6hrs of sunlight over a full week as the late summer storms hit us every day. This was one of the fleeting moments of brilliant light that pierced through the rain clouds. An absolutely breathtaking moment.

  10. For #ForestFriday I want to share one of the first "good" images I ever took - I didn't realize it was "good" at the time, but, I've come to love this image. Don't delete your Raws!

I took it months after buying my first #Fujifilm on a trip to #Guatemala with my sister as we hiked up #Acatenango #Volcano

  11. This is one of several waterfalls I discovered last summer that I plan to spend some quality time with this summer. 😍

  12. For #MountainMonday: Clouds at sunset stream over the twin peaks of Mount Pelops near Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. Mount Pelops (2015 m / 6611 ft) is part of the Tantalus Range in Tantalus Provincial Park.

  13. It's worth posting this image as well - taken the previous day and looking North instead of South, this image spurred the goal of taking a series of 1:1 images across my #Backpacking trek through the #Drakensberg range.

  14. Ocean In The Sky (2024)
Named for the wave like cloud inversion below, I took this image early morning, shortly after golden hour and before the heat of the day burned off the clouds below.

I was motivated to capture a 1:1 ratio image of this location as part of a photographic challenge I set for myself in the region.

  15. The incredible #NiagaraFalls in a way you're probably not used to seeing them - frozen, frosted over, and with the thick icicles hanging off the rocks.

If you look closely you'll see the large gulls flying around the turbulent waters, dwarfed by the scale of the nearby rocks.

  16. This is one of my favourite images I've ever taken - a pivotal moment in how I saw my images, and a moment that marked a moment of progression in my journey in the #Art of #Photography

I took it while balanced on the edge of a cliff, capturing what was a gloomy canyon scene before we were blown away as the sun cut through the overcast skies. Illuminating the mist and the damp foliage below.
