  13. The #Yukon #Government is asking citizens to submit red tape issues. Good! There is an online form, but it is not easy to find:

    forms2.service.yukon.ca/ca/en/

They ask you to "upload any documentation to support your feedback", but then they restrict that to ".png, .jpeg, .doc, .docx or .pdf" - and only a single file, max 10 MByte.

    Can't make that up.

  14. Mount Monolith might be part of the most unique mountain ranges I've visited.

In the high northern Tundra these mountains weren't formed by your usual tectonic plates pushing up on each other, but by the volcanoes that erupted underneath ancient glaciers, freezing them in time as enormous black vertical walls, with column like pillars extending across the ridge lines.

  21. THREE JOURNEYS NORTH TO THE ARCTIC SEA:
There were ramparts on the #Yukon River, and on the Porcupine: they were places where high rock walls narrowed the rivers and created a claustrobic feeling. 24. A favourite image from my #BackPacking trip to #Yukon in 2022.

I had planned the trip for end of August hoping we would be on the trail during the incredible transition from summer to fall colours - we may have arrived a week early, but, on our hike out the colours really started to show creating this gorgeous rainbow like patterns across the slopes. Reds, greens, yellows, purples, and oranges!

  31. Citadel (2022)

I edited this image last night. I've been trying to crack it's puzzle for years and failed, struggling with it's colours and tones. I desperately wanted an epic shot here when I visited #Yukon in 2022, I'd scoured maps to find a suitable foreground for this peak. But, the weather didn't co-operate the day-of.

I am thrilled to finally share it.
