I just found out one of the subreddits with the worst kind of bizarre humans. I understand not wanting a pet, but the way they view pet owners really says more about themselves than the people they discuss. I'm really ill at ease 😅

This is not really new. There was research maybe 10-20 years ago about patients being more willing to "expose" personal history on a web form that they were unwilling to discuss with a human clinician (sexual history for example).
Also I'm pretty sure there was a similar study (without #AI claims) maybe ten years ago. With similar results... the #computer was perceived to be more empathetic.
My *personal* view: These studies are detecting flaws with human-to-human #communication.
#Emotions like #embarrassment and fear of being judged on the #patient side
Being #judgemental, use of #jargon, and lack of #empathy on the #clinician side

@arstechnica Children do not deserve to suffer for the sins of their parents. I’d almost hope the parents get sick but I won’t allow myself to wish harm on anyone. Maybe watching their own children (or others they know) will be enough. #judgemental. #measles #vaccination #vaccineswork

It's easy to mock someone, because they are uneducated about a topic, especially if oneself is well versed in it.
And sometimes ridicule has it's place.
But questions, even trivial ones, always carry a willingness to lean and become better.
Asking for help shouldn't carry as much of a stigma, as it often does.
