  3. Who reads your stuff — A or B?

Cloud that scans your files vs a server that can't. Search that profiles you vs SearXNG that forgets you instantly. Comment which one you'd switch first.

  4. Your data receipt, printed

Location 24/7, contacts, scanned messages, profiled searches, sampled voice — the receipt big tech never prints. Self-hosted apps have no line items because there's no one to collect for.

Local AI detection, footage that never leaves your house, any camera, smart-home triggers — and no $120/yr. Frigate makes Ring look like a subscription trap, because it is one.

  19. Ok. To do Uncloud on my server I need to run a local registry (unregistry can work as well, but registry is not hard). Then move my services (web, dns, prometheus, s3) over.
Next backup local gits and decide if I need local forgejo (also has registry....)
Then reinstall with Fedora and reapply Uncloud

#Homeserver is just a single server, like pc, rpie, etc that you run from home. #Selfhosting
