Also der He-Man-Film ist tatsächlich sehr sehr amüsant. Kann man machen, bissl lang vielleicht, aber erbaulicher als alles, was ich in den letzten Jahren bei Marvel oder Star Wars erleiden musste. #heman

Im Detail: Ein Heman Film gemacht für eine neue Generation (deshalb auch mit Tochter geschaut) mit netten Anspielungen für die alte Generation. Schauspielerisch ok aber Skeletor (Jared Leto) ist richtig schön böse!
Etwas weniger Slapstick und Schenkelklopfer, etwas mehr Handlung und deutlich weniger Laufzeit hätten noch gut getan.6/10 Punkte! Das sind 6 mehr als ich erwartet hatte :) Steelbook Vorbestellung bleibt!

Lots of in jokes. Lots of throwbacks and a couple of delightful cameos.
It’s delightfully campy and a lovely homage to the original TV series and to the 80s.

I finally watched "Masters of the Universe" (2026)!
I was really skeptical if I'd like it, because I would've preferred an actual "fully in Eternia" fantasy movie without the "real-life" parts.
But as it progressed, it started to work for me.
Designs and costumes of the named characters are really nicely done, especially Man-At-Arms, Mekaneck, Beastman and Trapjaw.
It has many eastereggs and pokes fun (and provides reasons) for some He-Man things like the characters partially silly names ("You are...Fisto! You fist people!").
So, yeah. If you can accept silliness and humor in your "Masters of the Universe", and can see the movie either as independent from or a prequel to the TV show, well, I had fun and hope for a sequel.

Ah yes this is such a FANTASTIC IDEA - because both of the He-Man live action movies were so Successful and made sooooo much Money!!!
Wait. No. The Exact Opposite of this is actually true. 😑🤔

Ähm, also.. ja 😅😶 He-Man an sich ist ja cool, aber der Film war sehr durchwachsen. Fühlte sich mehr wie eine Parodie an, als dass man es wirklich ernst nehmen hätte können. Aber Sound und Effekte waren sonst ganz gut.

Master of the Universe is on Prime. I'm 10 minutes in now... They are visibly trying to lean into the ridiculousness of the costumes and lore. But it still feels like a bad CGI fest with bad child actors. The green lion cub had the same toddler voice as the prince and because the lipsync was bad I didn't know who was talking in that scene.
I'm giving it a go but I think I won't be able to watch it for much longer.... -

[P] I'm going to say it—the 2021 CGI He-Man cartoon was a far better experience than the new film for five distinct reasons: A.) No Jared Leto (I was tempted to mention this a few times as separate points); 2.) The writing is juat far funnier and more emotionally meaningful in the bloody cartoon; 3.) The cartoon embraces ita weird science-fantasy where the film is clearly ashamed of it, which takes the magic away; 4.) Cringer and Orko aren't sidelined; 5.) No Jared Leto (sorry).

⚔️He-Man ha resultado ser un pequeño despropósito.
Chiste tras chiste, muchos de ellos con ese humor tontorrón que parece obligatorio meter ahora aunque no venga a cuento.
Y el protagonista... no podía dejar de pensar que era el hermano gemelo de Carlos Baute.
Ya con eso me sacaban de la película.Sigo sin entender esa obsesión por convertir a todos los héroes en adolescentes para atraer al público adolescente.
He-Man nunca fue eso.
Se echa de menos un tipo con presencia, con cara de haber partido unas cuantas espadas y pelo en pecho.
No un niñato haciendo el payaso media película.Lo mejor, sin discusión, son los tres minutos de cameo de Dolph Lundgren.
Ahí sí pensé: "Este sí es He-Man".
No voy a comparar las dos películas porque entre los efectos especiales hay décadas de diferencia, sería absurdo.
Pero si hablamos del personaje, me sigo quedando con Lundgren de calle.Y luego está Skeletor.
Sí, es Jared Leto.
O mejor dicho... casi.
Como anda un poco vetado en Hollywood por sus historias, parece que han decidido esconderlo todo lo posible para que apenas se le perciba¿Entretiene?
Bueno... sí, pasa el rato.
¿La recomendaría?
Pues no.
Si buscas una película de aventuras que se tome un poco en serio a sí misma, aquí no la vas a encontrar.
Otra víctima de esa manía moderna de meter humor absurdo cada dos minutos, hasta en escenas donde lo único que consigue es romper el ambiente.🎬🎬🎬

Vimos la peli de He-Man... a mi me quedó algo sonando en la cabeza, la banda sonora me gustó mucho y la encontraba familiar, como una firma del autor... Cada dos por tres pongo la película El Rey Arturo, con Jude Law y Eric Bana... porque me encanta la banda sonora y la tengo descargada y la escucho cada tanto... Me parecía que era el mismo y zaz. Lo busqué y era nomás Daniel Pemberton. La peli es muy giño a quienes peinamos canas... pero me gustó mucho, me hizo acordar a mi niñéz y a esa música épica que indicaba que había una aventura por ocurrir. He-Man y los Amos del Universo es una adaptación con elementos modernos que me hicieron mucha gracia #heman #mastersoftheuniverse #greyskull #eternia

Once again, @mhd reminded me of an old RPG. If you take GURPs CONAN and you add science, you end up with Masters of the Universe RPG.
Which was already made in the 80s, by FASA, but it was a terrible game, sort of made for kids, sort of a RPG but crossed with a board game and without a referee.

Finally saw #mastersoftheuniverse and I absolutely loved it. Brian May doing music. Cameo by Dolph Lundgren. Jared Leto and Allison Brie camping it up.
The dialogue was fun. The fights scenes were fun.
It was comic booky, cartoonish, and a blast. 8.5/10. Lost points for some janky CGI.
