New server, new #Introduction, I guess

I'm an #ActuallyAutistic #Queer person in #Edinburgh, #Scotland. I usually post about my interests or random thoughts in my head. I also often complain about technology around me. I also like to read about sustainability. Trying to keep my #HousePlants alive.

What you should know is I'm lactose intolerant. So please keep dairy away from my feed, haha.

I like watching #SciFi ( #StarTrek, #StarGate, #DoctorWho, and others), but I also like #MurderMystery. If you don't want to be murdered, don't go to Cabot Cove ( #MurderSheWrote). Occasionally I watch some #musical.

I try to get better at Go ( #weiqi, #baduk)

For games I usually play on my #NintendoSwitch (casual gamer - #MarioKart, #AnimalCrossing, #MarioParty, main series of #Mario, #Splatoon, #WarioGames, and more) and #BoardGames (a casual fan - I genuinely enjoy playing #Cluedo and #Munchkin. I also enjoy #Fluxx, #GiveMeTheBrain, #Scrabble, #TheSettlersOfCatan, Pandemic (that hashtag would be confusing), #ExplodingKittens, #Dixit, and more)

#TheHobbit is still my favourite book, but I also like #MissMarple, #Poirot, and #SherlockHolmes. #TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy series is great. So is #Discworld by #TerryPratchett. Enjoyed #EarthSea series.

I like to drink #Tea, especially #GreenTea. Enjoy animated shows like #Daria, #Amphibia, #TheOwlHouse, #ScoobyDoo, #GravityFalls, #BobsBurgers, #SpyXFamily, #InvaderZim, #DuckTales, #AvatarTheLastAirbender, old #TheSimpsons, #SpongeBob, and others

Second hand #ThinkPad user running #FreeBSD with #XFCE. Web browsing in #Librewolf and #links2. #Tabs over #Spaces and I use nano.

It wasn't bad, yet it wasn't something that's extraordinary.

The art style/rendering is, the same as the previous, amazingly detailed. When it comes to the #Mario series, something about it is unique. We don't see a lot of detail, lighting, and shading. There were a lot of explosions, though.

More music from the games are played, both original and covered, which is nice. Sadly, though, I realized after finishing the movie, my favorite track, that I remember listening to many years ago, wasn't there. Still, better than the first.

The story, however... well, let me first tell you that I never played the game. Shocking. :mario_flop:
I don't know if it's any accurate to it. I know that the story that Rosalina had is there. I know that Bowser Jr. is involved in the story of the game too.
Aside of that, the movie featured aspects from other Mario games, just like the first movie. I'm kinda happy that the characters got expanded, showing ones like Birdo, but they were shown for a short time. I expected longer, especially for her (thanks to one of the trailers).

I learned in this movie:

• Rosalina is ACTUALLY considered a princess.
• Princess Rosalina and Princess Peach are sisters.

About the second one, apparently, this was never mentioned in the game, at all. This is entirely new information. Are they adoptive? I don't know. However, this most likely confirms that all of the Mario princesses are related. Yes, including Princess Daisy. I heard that it was mentioned in a Nintendo Power magazine, Peach and Daisy are cousins.

Another thing is that Princess Peach is still really in control of things. I guess it makes more sense for this movie, because there were Mario 2 elements.
Speaking of Peach, remember when Nintendo said, before the release of the movie, Mario and Peach are just "good friends"? However, from the movie, it feels as if they're kind of encouraging the ship, which is bizarre. Was this fan-service in a way?

I only watched the Arabic dub. The voice actors did well, faithful to the original. I wanted to check the original Yoshi voice just for the funnies. This is the Mushroom Kingdom.

Here comes the most crappy part about the movie: The unnecessary cameos.
There were 4 CAMEOS. FOUR. One would be enough I guess, but no. At this point, they might as well put a character like Sonic. :sonic_tap:
Are they plotting for some sort of Super Smash Bros. movie in the future? I don't understand.
The Sonic movies never had cameos, so why bother? Why would Fox McCloud have a major plot and help the characters? I hope they don't do this again.

Overall, it was okay. I kind of wish it was better in some cases. :mario_like:

And also... finally, Princess Daisy will be in the third movie. I wanted her to be featured earlier, but better than never.
