This cute little guy is from the original Super Mario Bros. His name is Goomba in English and Kuribō in Japanese.

The game takes place in a mushroom kingdom, so he was modeled after Shiitakes. But one developer thought he resembled a chestnut, and called him Kuribō. This means “chestnut boy” in Japanese.

There’s more to the story, but that’s the gist of his name duality.

Okay I've really wanted to get back into daily drawing. Background story; in 2017 I started drawing every day to improve myself and had so much fun I kept going until after the two year mark in 2019.
