@Taubeaufdemdach @sixtus afaik kaum, viel weniger als zB in der Diskussion um die Friedrichsstr., um Hannovers Innenstadt oder um #GoodMove in Brüssel.

Si peu de monde conteste que le nombre de voitures doit être réduit en ville, les moyens d'y parvenir prêtent à débat. Cette mesure environnementale doit en effet tenir compte de critères sociaux pour ne pas fragiliser davantage celles et ceux qui le sont déjà.

@casblaauw I should have clarified that for the EU parliament I'm decided: it's Groen or Ecolo (can still choose between them haha).

And yeah, I also forgot to mention how good the original #GoodMove plan was! Covering the whole city, no special treatment for any neighbourhood, traffic diverted to main streets. Where it was implemented it made cycling so much safer, it's also just nicer to hang out there! Shame it got derailed by rioting mobs.

But the most salient issue in this regional election is the #GoodMove traffic calming plan. The greens are the only ones fully supporting the plan, other parties including the socialists are at best skeptical.

Voting socialist is more likely to be interpreted as anti-GoodMove than pro-housing.

@ali thanks for this. I'm currently trying to defend #GoodMove on our hoplr community (quartier hôpital d'#Ixelles), but the guys - and, to be fair, some women too - are really banging the table!

Studies show that it is more often #women who travel in ways other than by car. So, #GoodMove and #UrbanMobility is a gendered issue. And yet, progress in #Brussels was allowed to be blocked by a small group of (mostly) men, despite public support.

So, "let's give women a safe space where they can calmly articulate their real concerns. [...] A space where shouting and fists on the table have no place."
