  1. Implemented editing the on device gestures.

Not super happy with the design of the page though, feels a bit empty.

  2. Added a small dialog for some more technical data about the connected device.

  3. I have to say, regardless of how #VibeCoding a LibAdwaita app is...

    #LibAdwaita is sick.

It's design may be "too gray|white", but is clear, and its flexible enough for desktop (because no-way this shit is going to take off on mobile, ever).

  4. Got most of the of the major features reverse-engineered and fully functional implemented in the UI.

  5. A new #Hieroglyphic release is out now. Thanks to the exciting work done by @bnyro,
Hieroglyphic can now also recognize @typst symbols (a modern alternative to
LaTeX). Hardware-acceleration will now be preferred over using the CPU, when
    available, reducing power-consumption.

  10. Implemented connecting to the device, and the basic infrastructure for the protocol used to control/receive information from the earbuds.

    #GNOME #GNOMEApps #libadwaita

  11. I was inspired by @hbons development threads to post a bit about the app I'm currently prototyping.

It's a small app to configure Bluetooth headphones (e.g. toggle active noise canceling).
Currently, device scanning and filtering is implemented as well as connecting to the device, but it's not hooked up to the UI yet.

  12. #Eyedropper 2.2.0 is out now, bringing support for color picking without
having the application open. It also now supports RGB in decimal notation
and improves support for systems without a proper portal setup.

As always, you can download the latest release from Flathub flathub.org/en/apps/com.github

  13. Thanks to an update of the underlying libraries the next release of #Hieroglyphic will automatically use hardware acceleration (i.e. NPU) when available, improving efficiency.

    #GNOME #GNOMEApps #GNOMECircle #libadwaita

  14. #Eyedropper now supports the new session restore feature, so it will automatically restore picked colors across reboots.

Thanks to @AdrianVovk for the excellent guide!

  15. trackpad gesture navigation is still one of my favorite things with GNOME Web vs other web browsers

like yeah you can see some visual bugs with it here, but swiping the web page "off" of the previous page to go back, or swiping it back "on" to the current page to go forward just looks really nice

  19. so I mentioned recently that I like typing on my Framework 13 more than my mechanical keyboard. I decided to pick up a Keychron B1 Pro today since it has low-profile laptop-style keys and was only $40

pretty good Keypunch result for it being my first time typing on it

  24. I finally wrote the first part of my journey developing a drum machine app and becoming a GNOME Foundation member. I talked about the great @gnome community, Gnome Circle apps, Gnome Foundation membership perks, and how to come up with an idea.

In the next articles, I will talk about the development of the Drum Machine and the application review process, and what happens after getting your membership and your app being accepted to the Gnome Circle.

  25. I'm excited to share that Drum Machine is now officially on the @gnome translation platform! This is a big step forward in making Drum Machine accessible to users worldwide. You can contribute translations via Damned Lies: l10n.gnome.org/module/drum-mac.

  26. Does anyone have guides and books on getting started with GNOME App Development or rather GTK4 development? Since I finally abandoned Windows 11 to Arch Linux with GNOME I wanted to move my ideas to Linux app development.
PS: I only know the basics of C and Python and only have more advanced experience on Kotlin and Java. I also wanted to use GNOME's Builder IDE.

  27. I discovered Ptyxis recently and it has quickly became my favorite terminal emulator. Its got GTK4, all the various features you would want, AND first-class support for distrobox. If youre on Gnome I highly recommend giving it a try, its so much better than the default.

  28. It's not long until the 1st of June, so why not pick up the guitar and learn some catchy tunes for the summer? I've just published version 7.0 of Fretboard, which brings more accurate chord name prediction, note names on hover for the neck top toggles, and a couple of fixes for various small issues encountered since last release. It should be on Flathub very soon!

I think this looks really cool!

While I do like :inkscape:, I think it would be very nice to have a simple vector graphic app that looks more native on :gnome:.

Is the WIP code for this public? I haven't yet found a git repo :git: of this project.

  30. Might change this down the line (at least once accent colours drop in GNOME), but I have a green accent colour in Binary now:

Small touch, but it makes it feel a bit more unique and fun, and fits with the app's brand with the green logo.

  31. The only feature needed is what I said. The interface for sorting the pics could be similar to the new tab overview feature in #Gnome (see attached image).

And the result must be exportable as a pdf

Bonus features that would be nice to have, but not necessary:

    - Add text, change font, color and placement, and select a semi-transparent background color for the text
    - Zoom in on a pic, and move it to choose which part is shown in the slideshow
    - Export as odp
    - Add notes to each page
