#Eyedropper 2.2.0 is out now, bringing support for color picking without

Finally took some time to fix one of the biggest issues with #Eyedropper, not being able to use it without first picking a color. Of course, color picking is still available (see the eyedropper button in the headerbar).

After almost a year since the last release, a new version of #Eyedropper is now available.
It now features a color editor, allowing to directly modify picked colors, a new warning page for unsupported systems (Thanks to @bragefuglseth for the illustration) and a rewritten color conversion backend.The new version should be available on Flathub soon.

Even more hours later, #Eyedropper still looks the same, but instead of adding a new CSS class for each color in the history, it now overwrites the snapshot function.
Actually, it is surprisingly easy, once I figured out what to do. -
I have been experimenting with a new design in #Eyedropper, that easily allows changing the picked color, without editing the raw color values or picking a new one.
Happy to hear some early feedback :)

If you use #Eyedropper, have you ever changed any of the illuminant settings?
For context, in the current rewrite, I've been considering dropping the settings to simplify the code, settings UI, and reduce the maintenance required, as I suspect it's not used much, comparatively. -
After hours of work, #Eyedropper now has fewer features than before, but also 2k lines of code less.

Me había quejado amargamente hace unos meses porque ningún selector de color parecía funcionar correctamente por causa de incompatibilidad con #Wayland en #Fedora #Linux. Pero acabo de probar la versión 1.0.0 recientemente publicada de #Eyedropper y funciona de lujo.

Looks like there is finally some progress on the #GNOME global shortcut portal. Can't wait to add support for it to #Eyedropper, I feel like it will make the application much more useful.

New #Eyedropper (1.0.0) Release 🎉
This is the biggest release for Eyedropper yet, here are some of the major features, including those from the last beta release
- Visual feedback when entering a color format
- Support for entering all formats
- Ability to search for colors in the activity overview
- Choice of file format when exporting palettes
- Export palettes for LibreOffice
- Updated design
- Show only unique colors (thanks @gregorni)
- Fixed bugs (and probably added new ones) -

While I was working on reimplementing the #Eyedropper settings, I made an interesting discovery. It turns out that the move up/down actions change the row position but fails to save the movement to settings. And it took me only 9 months to discover that I forgot to implement this…

Here's a small preview of improved user feedback when manually entering a new color in the next version of #Eyedropper. It will now blink with an error/success color. The input can now also be entered by clicking the new apply button.

Thanks to @tbernard, #Eyedropper now has a new icon, which is compliant with #GNOME guidelines. I can't thank him enough, it looks absolutely fantastic!

#Eyedropper now supports exporting palettes as #Adobe Swatch Exchange (ase) files. Simply use the .ase file extension when exporting and enjoy using it an #Photoshop, Illustrator, etc...
