ZDNet: Google Chrome’s vertical tabs are here: How to opt in and use the new Reading Mode. “Instead of forcing you to work with all your open pages at the top of the screen, the vertical tabs layout displays them in a sidebar. This means you can open and view more tabs without them getting lost in the shuffle. Plus, you can easily see the full titles of each page and quickly switch to a […]

Mozilla Blog: Split View in Firefox: Two tabs side by side, right where you need them. “The web is inherently multidimensional. For years, browsing this way meant bouncing back and forth between multiple open tabs, or spinning up multiple windows and using other tools to organize them side-by-side. The new Split View feature makes these moments easier. It lets you place two tabs next to each […]

I was really dreading moving the 200+ tabs I have open in 3 different windows from my old laptop (Miss Sakamoto) to the new one (Caroline4Five2). Mozilla Sync would allow me to get a list of them all, and open them... *one at a time*.
Solution: use Bookmarks > Bookmark All Tabs and create 3 temporary "folders" in my bookmarks, for each window. Sync from Miss S.
Then sync on Caroline, open a new window, and "Open All in Tabs". Presto!

Oh wow, someone finally realized they can turn their #Linux #desktop into a glorified Google #Chrome tab! 🤦♂️ Because who needs a real window manager when you have ALL the browser tabs? 🚀 Just add more code from GitHub and you're good to go—unless, of course, you want to actually do anything other than browse cat memes. 🐱

One discipline people in tech world need more then anything is to close the F**** tabs in their browsers.
Why:
Frees RAM so we do not all pretend we "need" 128 GB machines.
Lets you actually run that local LLM or your music player or Adobe or Oracle products (you do you). For the pentesters this free's up more ram for Burp to eat and not burp :P
Lowers cognitive load.
Ends the guilt of the tab you have ignored for six weeks.
Solution:
- Close the damn tab.
- Finished reading it? Close it.
- Not ready to work on it? Do not open it yet.
- Reading later? Bookmark, read‑it‑later app, or let it go.
Set yourself free. RAM returns. Focus returns. Guilt evaporates.
Close the damn tab.

Every day all day I have five different browsers open on my computer, each with its own explicit purpose. Each has an array of tabs that come and go.
In my main browser I opened a second window for some focused work. That has now become a new collection of tabs.
What should I do with the first window, behind the new one?

Matt #Godbolt bravely tackles the monumental challenge of creating #URLs that last forever—because we all desperately need browser tabs from 2012 🌐🔗. Turns out, cramming an entire compiler state into a URL just might not be the pinnacle of efficiency 🧐. But fear not, Google has come to the rescue, because who doesn't love outsourcing their problems to the tech overlords? 👾

Engadget: Firefox finally adds tab groups. “Firefox now lets you organize your tabs. Four years after its biggest rivals launched tab groups, Mozilla published a nearly 1,000-word blog post recounting the feature’s long road from user requests to launch. (Consider skipping it if you don’t like long-winded acceptance speeches.)”

Oh, look! Another 𝓹𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓾𝓼 blog post dissecting Mozilla's policy changes. 🧐 Apparently, the world needed a deep dive into the pressing issue of browser tab arrangement. 🌐🥱 #Waterfox is here, bravely battling the relentless forces of user choice, one snooze-inducing paragraph at a time. 🚀💤

If you use Firefox on Android - note that there is no easy (or straightforward) way to save / export open tabs / bookmarks / collections of bookmarks
Even syncing your account to a desktop machine doesn't allow you to easily do this.
I discovered this the hard way yesterday so this is just a FYI.
