Got most of the house stuff done, confirmed that the decorator is actually coming on Sunday, so that’s good. I have about 20 mins of episode 5 and then the last ever episode of Alice in Borderland to watch.
But the young adults wanted to play exploding kittens and watch Dr Who, so we’ve been doing that.
Completely forgot that I had a zoom call this evening, but I was able to reschedule for a better day/time :)

That is a scary thought. I put them through so much. I do believe in happy endings, but they must all be scarred by the events they go through.
Arisu would be the best. She forgets her awful past. And the events of that book are milder than my later books. Still, she isn't a happy person. I think by the end of the book, she has made as much peace with her past as I have with mine.

For technical reasons, narrative characters need to be articulate, introspective individuals. So I guess you could say they come from the technical needs of the story I am writing.
Arisu, Kao, Kan-chan, Shiomi and Shiro are into D&S because I am.
Ume, Shiomi, and Tomo smoke because I have a smoking fetish.
Kao, Arisu, Ume, and Shiro are all interested in music (Whichever genre I am into when I start.)
Arisu, Kao, and Ume are involved with Occult Spiritual Animism because I am.

Rewatching #highschoolofthedead as one does but this watch through I am appreciating the side characters.
My current attention is on Mr. Maresato, Arisu’s dad.
He went above and beyond for his daughter and I am so sad that he died.
Scared and desperate people all around, and even though he is not on the screen long, it hurts my heart every time I watch it happen.
Even as he is dying, his focus is on reassuring his little girl and telling her to go and hide.
