  1. Looks like is keeping the 1.9 branch of under the -2.0, and I assume 1.10(?) will use the -1.1 license.

    Building 1.9.3 for soon...

  2. @omenos @somegirlprivacy @e33io #kexec is great when it works and does what it's supposed to do. But I've also had it cause the need for the reboot (by crashing) that I was trying to avoid in the first place by calling it.

  3. @omenos @somegirlprivacy @e33io I completely agree with all of this. That said, I've never had an issue with #kpatch other than I've only ever had it available on #RHEL and it seems like it would be a lot of work to provide and maintain it for #Fedora where the kernel changes frequently.

  4. @somegirlprivacy @omenos @e33io The ostree flavors of #Fedora recently got an --apply-live for rpm-ostree update. It's not a desktop distro, but #TalosLinux uses #kexec to boot into a newer kernel and runtime live without reboot.

  5. Sometimes I'll receive a response to an issue and just cease functioning for a bit. Too many opposing thoughts and emotions at once canceling each other out. A complete mental and emotional short-circuit, if you will.

    I don't think the human mind is designed to process shock, despair, rage, and exasperation simultaneously. Is there a proper term for this phenomenon?

  6. Personally, I'm an OpenShift fan and user as it provides a great experience OOTB. Due to its intended audience it is a bit larger than the rest with a lot of batteries included. However, the installation process is quite simple; you just need to have the necessary hardware available.

    Recommended minimums:
    - Control plane: 4 vCPUs, 16GB RAM
    - Worker node: 2 vCPUs, 8GB RAM

    OpenShift is a paid product, but the sibling community project () is what I run in my homelab.

  7. @Cfkschaller How crazy and/or how much of a non-starter this idea would even be:

    RHEL Workstation's desktop components as an application stream.

    The core motivation here is to enable RHEL customers to use the latest Workstation environment on older RHEL versions (within logistical and practical reasoning). For example, GNOME 47 from RHEL 10 available for installation on RHEL 9.

  19. I've updated my Hare COPR to have the latest QBE commits and 0.24.2-rc1 builds of hare and harec. Available for Fedora 39+ and EPEL 9:

    $ dnf copr enable mroche/hare
    $ dnf install hare

    If you have previous iterations of the packages you may need to run some dnf swaps, but there should not be any glaring issues. Let me know if you run into anything pesky!

  20. Looks like Quay.io is being updated to use Patternfly V5, and I'm a huge fan of the design layout. If you're logged in, you can switch to it at the top of the page with the Current UI/New UI toggle.

    Just bear in mind it is a beta, so not every feature/aspect of the original site may be there just yet.

    Carry on! *Please do upgrade, though!*
