I realize everyone is tired of hearing about AI every other minute, but I wanted to share a small project that I started on the side - an MCP server for Copr. It can create projects, build packages, etc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gYktJT-Cr0
It is still in an early stage of development, but I wanted to know what you think.

@jonathanspw @almalinux Thanks, ok, #copr I was exploring for a broken #FreeCAD build last year, so that might be something for the holiday then. Thanks again.

Just a FYI: If you use Fedora and using Wezterm, the latest version of
weztermfrom COPR is an empty package due to some buggy spec change; you have to installwezterm-guiandwezterm-mux-serverto make it actually installed
there is already an issue created here that you can follow: https://github.com/wezterm/wezterm/issues/7502

256k packages were downloaded from my #Linux #kernel vanilla #copr repositories[1] for #Fedora Linux 41 during its lifetime, which ends today, as it becomes EOL.
That's ~30k more than for Fedora 39, and 20k less than Fedora 40[2].

[2] I guess is due to a subpackage being separated and thus not shipped in my coprs anymore

Either someone found the vanilla #linux-next builds fpr #s390x useful, which I enabled a few days ago in my #Fedora Linux #copr[1] – or it was just some AI crawler that made the number in the download stats go up from 0 to 32. 🤷
These days you never know. #moderntimes #kernel #LinuxKernel

Amazing! The #Fedora #COPR is one way to try it, even on #AtomicDesktops like #uBlue
Some things that come to my mind:
- adjustable size
- padding to left/right so it doesnt take up all the screen
- nice show/hide functionality with a button, swiping, dynamically
- functional keys (Ctrl, Alt, Super, Arrows, Fn keys, ...) -
Woo! Grateful for the #Fedora #COPR repos! I know installing things from third party repos willy nilly is a bad idea, but I was having trouble figuring out how to install the #wezterm I'd build from source (You can't really set
cargo run --bin weztermas your default Terminal Emulator!) and I was happy to see that I could just dnf install it with desktop integration and all the bells and whistles in place. -
@cgwalters we started using bootc images for Copr builders and so far everything works great.

Updated #TaskJuggler to the latest version in my #COPR repository for @fedora :
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ankursinha/rubygem-taskjuggler/
TaskJuggler is an Open Source project management tool. It's full of great features---scheduling, resource allocation, gannt charts, reports and reporting, all of it. See the documentation here: https://taskjuggler.org/documentation.html
I use it to manage all my work projects, and it's a real boon. Give it a go!

How often do you check what's available in our Copr repos? While you should check with trepidation, there are still some cool projects to check out.
We're highlighting Spotify Qt, Ghostty, Zen Browser, and LACT!

Why is it so hard, in the year 2025, to convert a large Ruby (or Python, or Node) project into a repo of deb/rpm packages? Why can't I install the project into a fakeroot or Docker image and have some util convert all of the installed gems/pips/npms into a repo of deb/rpm specs that I can then host?

Can anyone answer this question I have about Fedora?
I'm thinking of using Fedora 41 for music production (as well as the usual desktop stuff). In order to install several audio effects plugins it looks like I will have to add a music-focussed COPR repo.
What's the likelihood of my system becoming wobbly by adding COPR repo/s and is there anything I do to prevent it?

2/ Side note for users of #Fedora #Linux:
#LinuxKernel 6.12 is now available for all Fedora releases in the "stable" #copr of my #kernel vanilla repositories.
For install instructions, see https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/kernel-vanilla/stable/ and https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Kernel_Vanilla_Repositories
In addition to the regular kernel package that copr as of today started shipping a dedicated #realtime kernel which has #PREEMPT_RT enabled. Install it by running:
$ sudo dnf install kernel-rt

Also, with the release of wslu 4.1.4, we have updated the supported versions:
- CentOS Stream 9/10
- EPEL 8-10
- Fedora 39-41
- RHEL 8-9All of them support both arm64 and amd64 architecture except RHEL 8 since it seems to be broken.
