  1. Seit gut einer Woche nutze ich Kagi (kagi.com) als Suchmaschine.

    Was soll ich sagen?

  2. Post-#neeva update: I have the feeling that the search results at #Kagi are slowly getting better. What I am missing at the moment? It would be great if you didn't have to choose either Germany OR International for "Region", but could select several individually weighted regions.

  3. I'm genuinely curious about Kagi search. @ludicity is the second writer/blogger/chastiser-of-naked-emperors whose opinion I trust that appears to sing Kagi’s praises.

Does anyone else have well-formed opinions on their usage of ? Its utility appears to be well-demonstrated, so I’m particularly interested from a perspective of , , and the odds that it won’t be

This is a really interesting article on the present state and likely future state of search.

Search engines in use are Google and Kagi.

  6. @EndlessMason @vileboss How do YOU accomplish this?

    1. Go to noai.duckduckgo.com for every search (do people use bookmarks anymore?
    2. Download the DuckDuckGo browser? You need to turn off at least three settings to get the same as #1
    3. Pay for #KagiSearch, set up the Brave browser with that as default search – wrestle with the ethics of using their Ai that gives sources (many thanks to @kagihq)
    4. Do nothing, scroll by the ads & Ai
    5. All of the above

#kagi #kagisearch

  8. I've been using kagi.com for a few months now and it is truly a great product. The search engine works great, but I've been really impressed by kagi translate. This is by far the best translation app I've ever used, and imo a great companion app for language learning.

  9. When the product is so good, your forget the years of conditioning of using the word Google instead of search.

  11. If you're also annoyed that @kagihq does not let you turn off/remove the AI features from your Kagi UX then this might be something for you:

  12. Has anybody found a way to set #Kagi #kagisearch as the search engine for the Search Bar on Android? I have the Kagi Search app installed but it's not offered in the bar's settings.

  13. Not liking the Quick Answer change @kagihq made this week. It feels like I'm being pushed towards starting an Assistant conversation whenever I end a search with a question mark. #kagisearch #kagi

  14. Oh no, Kagi Search, the world-renowned purveyor of unnecessary outages, stumbles yet again! 🚨🤖 Who knew a "search" engine could be so hard to "find"? 🙃 Meanwhile, their uptime stats are as reliable as a paper umbrella in a hurricane. ☔️

  15. @cstross @aeva it’s honestly shocking that people would read this and think it’s a good idea. And it’s even worse that suggestions like that are actually allowed to be produced..

You won’t get the AI bullshit out of google but given how (needlessly) dependent a large portion of people on the internet are on it you’d hope they would at least try to assure some quality in its hallucinations.

  16. The Kagi search engine is in the zeitgeist. While we cooked dinner, I told Partner I was thinking of moving to Kagi and asked if he'd like to try it out with me. He demurred, saying he'd read about a different search engine he'd like to try, but he couldn't remember its name.

Comes back later with a link to an Ars Technica article. Turns out it was Kagi all along :p

  17. Holy mackerel!

I made a comment on a feedback page and the fix I suggested (a typo, really) was applied the following day.

    @kagihq, this is impressive.

  19. In a shocking exposé, our intrepid blogger reveals the horrors of *gasp* being asked to complete a take-home assignment for a job application. 🤯 Apparently, the real scandal is not in the assignment itself, but in the sheer audacity of Kagi Search expecting work in exchange for the potential prospect of work. 😂
