Some years ago a video of several police officers with shields surrounding and disarming a man wielding an axe made the rounds.
It was a great example of how professional police shouldn't need to gun people down even in dangerous situations, and I need that now.

Thieves wielding power tools robbed the Louvre on Sunday, taking some of France's priceless crown jewels in a brazen, seven-minute heist carried out in broad daylight, officials and sources said.
The robbers used a powered, extendable ladder to enter the targeted gallery and made off with their haul before police arrived.
