#RussVought’s role in #Project2025 was to oversee executive orders & other #unilateral actions that #Trump could take during his first 6 months in office, w/the goal of tearing down & rebuilding #ExecutiveBranch institutions in a way that would enhance presidential #power.
In an interview with The NYT in 2023, Vought laid out an agenda of eliminating the #independence of certain #regulatory agencies that operate outside the direct control of the WH, such as the #FCC & the #SEC.

#RussVought does not hide his agenda or shy away from using #extreme rhetoric in public. But the apocalyptic tone & hard-line #policy prescriptions in the two private speeches go further than his earlier pronouncements. As #OMB dir, Vought sought to use #Trump’s 2020 “#ScheduleF” executive order to strip away job protections for nonpartisan #government workers. But he has never spoken in such pointed terms about #demoralizing federal #workers to the point that they don’t want to do their jobs.
