  9. Fun Plzeň fact:
The building next to today’s McDonald’s once housed the Communist Party — complete with a massive red star on the roof. After ’89 they didn’t remove it, just flopped it down so no one could see it.
I spotted it on the roof in 2015.

Since 2019 you can visit this retired metal celebrity at DEPO2015.

I argue for a deeper, more playful engagement between urban historians and the environmental humanities if we are to address the ecological crises of our times. 11. utpress.utexas.edu/97814773316 I am excited to read my colleague Jeana Ripple’s new book about housing and design and building codes and urban history. I expect to learn a lot that I can hopefully use to do some good. #housing #JeanaRipple #UVA #design #BuildingCode #UrbanHistory #NYC

  12. I think that its time for my #introduction. I work in IT and I recently started the #publichistory grad program at Central Connecticut State University, #ccsu. It's been great learning about #urbanhistory, #connecticut, #newengland, and the whole process of becoming a #historian but damn its hard going to school while working full time. #Cycling, #hiking, #ballet, and #gardening are my escapes from sitting at a desk with books and computers.
