Media reports of collisions both reflect and shape public understanding of road safety. This paper analyses 204 Swiss newspaper articles reporting collisions between car drivers and cyclists. Our analysis shows that these reports reproduce discursive biases rooted in motonormativity.

Eine Folge von #Motonormativity ist vermutlich, dass sich Menschen in psychischen Ausnahmesituationen weiterhin in ein Auto setzen, weil es ja ganz normal ist egal in welchem Zustand man sich befindet, und diese plötzlich zur Gefahr für Leib und Leben für ihr Umfeld werden. Gott sei Dank ist hier nicht mehr passiert.
