On May 11, 1995 quite a number of climate stations in central & eastern Interior Alaska reached that threshold, with the highest reliable temperature of 88F at Fairbanks Airport. Fairbanks #OTD in 1934 marginally came out of the most severe cold snap in community history*. Four straight days, January 12-15, saw temperatures stay in the 50s and 60s below (Fahrenheit). In Fairbanks, #Alaska 61 years ago today it was really, really cold: high temperature -55F (-48.3C), low -62F (52.2C).
