A major challenge of alternative #search engines seems to be that they have to be *reliable* in the sense that they should work, always.

Web search is an essential tool and if it's not available or quality noticeably degrades (hard to monitor!), that's a major headache for users.

One can argue that you can temporarily go to a different engine, but you have a preferred engine for good reasons (e.g. customizations, UI, etc.). When you have a car you like and used to you probably will struggle even with a very good replacement you got while yours is at the shop.

Yeah, editing privileges for NATO is not a thing that is going to happen for Putin. I'm guessing that's the point though - he has no real interest in ending the invasion. It doesn't matter how many people die, expanding Russia and oppressing the Baltics/Europe is his goal. And so this will continue until he's dead.

The right political choice for consumer protection and to curtail the spread of harmful misinformation and propaganda tools. To make it harder for bad people like Tim Sweeney to peddle their fraud.

The more right political choice would be to completely ban everything that uses AI, but this is better than nothing.

I watched Kiara's video with the Batman grapple gauntlet using a CO2 bike pump and oh no it gave me ideas for Faith's MagRope. I kinda like my peg and ballpoint pen spring method though. It's way less dangerous, not heavy, cost like 5 Cents and even that will probably not go on any con.
