  1. @990000 Totally agree. I would love to see a "wholistic" vision for #Python4 - reasonable package management, simplify many things, emphasize / lean into making it teachable & useable by kids ("pseudocode which compiles").

print(f"...") strings are dumb. Types by default / enforced. Subprocess "without", "splitting", "everything". Learn some of the smart things from Java & Rust without the verbosity & ugliness. Easily shareable compiled executables...

  2. "But it turns out that a lot of my so-called thoughts . . . are preverbal, often showing up as images, sensations, or concepts, with words trailing behind as a kind of afterthought, belated attempts to translate these elusive wisps of meaning into something more substantial and shareable."

  3. @riskable so, I tested it and indeed in the #slicer the hole is smaller, but it's not nearly as small as in the real printed item.
I've got 2mm in Cura, 1.6mm in the slicer and about half as that in the real item. So, it's probably a combination of the slicer and my printer that cause the issue.
My question is: how do I make a design shareable? What should I expect from other people with other printers and slicers printing my same design?
  4. Reflexivity is not just for qualitative researchers:

“In this paper, we make the case for integrating reflexivity across all research approaches, before providing a ‘beginner's guide’ for quantitative researchers wishing to engage reflexively with their own work.”

  5. The Open Cybersecurity Alliance now has Indicators of Behavior (#IoB) as a Sub-Project to help automate more sophisticated responses to today’s complex cyber attacks. The Open Cybersecurity Alliance (OCA) brings together vendors and end-users to create an open cybersecurity ecosystem where products can freely exchange information, insights, analytics, and orchestrated response. Threat actors are increasingly using coordinated, automated attacks that are more frequent, more impactful, and more sophisticated. Like-minded OCA members aim to create a standardized approach for representing cyber threat actor behaviors in a shareable format, helping to collectively identify attackers based on their behavior patterns. A State Department statement on the matter did not accuse the three arrested of any specific unlawful or harmful acts but stated that the #Trump administration “will never allow America to become a home for foreign nationals tied to anti-American terrorist regimes.”

Mr. Hashemi is the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, who served as the English-language spokeswoman for the #Islamist embassy captors during the 444-day hostage crisis. Mr. Hashemi had been the subject of recent reports in conservative media outlets that portrayed him as living comfortably in Los Angeles while working as a psychology professor.

The posts have referred to neo-#Nazi literature, ethnic cleansing and QAnon conspiracies, mused about deporting nearly a third of the #US population, and promoted lyrics from an anthem bellowed by the far-right militants of the Proud Boys.

Their authors are not on society’s fringe. They are in the offices of the White House and the departments of Homeland Security and Labor, using official government accounts.

Federal #immigration agents have broken windows and dragged occupants out of their vehicles. They have forcefully tackled people to the ground. They have pushed and shoved protesters, and deployed pepper spray directly in their faces.

For weeks, residents have documented the scenes unfolding as federal agents pursue President #Trump’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota. The videos have circulated widely and intensified outrage and fear among many Minnesotans.

Marty Kurcias, 76, who was protesting at the airport on Friday, said the aggressive treatment he has seen of Minnesotans was jarring. “It can’t go on like this,” he said. “We don’t abide by cruelty or violence.”

Mounting outrage over an ICE agent’s killing of a woman in #Minneapolis spilled into streets across the country on Saturday, as crowds of protesters mobilized against what they called the excesses of the #Trump administration’s mass #deportation campaign.

The “#IceOutForGood” campaign held #demonstrations in small towns and major cities, including some that have been central targets of President Trump’s #immigration crackdown. The protests came three days after an #ICE agent in Minneapolis shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a U.S. citizen at the wheel of a car, during an encounter in South Minneapolis.

“After nearly 35 years of experience with federal law enforcement in this judicial district, encompassing service as a prosecutor and a judge, I have never encountered anything like this,” Judge Brown, who was appointed by President #Trump in 2019, wrote.

The judge also wrote that #Immigration and Customs Enforcement had presented false information about Mr. Clarke’s arrest and had ignored court orders by failing to present him for a hearing and provide photographs of the cell. He questioned why the agency should not be held in contempt.

Basically by signing up to it, Epic gain your permission to collect everything they can about you and your devices, then use it to develop their products and services. Plus they'll treat the entire database as a saleable business asset. 💩
