It's an AWESOME #Dreamcast emulator though! Can handle 2x resolution, with xBRZ texture upscaling!
Sadly--though #RetroArch is capable of passing the microphone through to cores, and #Flycast can emulate two VMU slots per controller--it doesn't seem to support the microphone accessory for talking to Seaman! 🙁
Also, #retroachievements aren't working either 😔

Initial experience with #PSP games on the #RetroidPocket5 is mostly good! BurnOut runs with some stuttering. I can probably tweak some settings to get it to a steady FPS. #PPSSPP crashed and caused #Rocknix to reboot once, and I can't find a way to run it as a #libretro core so that Auto-Saves work consistently. I'm hopeful that those details can get worked out.

The next trick is to swap these new .chd files for the old ones without losing all the metadata and favorites I've made in #LaunchBox.
-
I got #Rocknix installed on my #RetroidPocket5. But it's #PSP emulator doesn't accept .7z files so I've got to decompress my whole collection and convert them to .chd files. Also, the Dreamcast .chd files I built from redumped bin+cues aren't compatible with #FlyCast so I've got to convert all of those to .gdi then re-chd them. I hope Launch ox doesn't lose all my favorites when I switch the files 😖
Pirating games is a lot of work!

I recently learned about #IPDB; a distributed database used by #ATProto. I wonder if you could build an #ActivityPub implementation that uses #IPFS for content distribution, and IPDB for distributing the activity data.

I planted #nasturtiums all around my house and I've learned a lot. I was told that they like lots of sunlight and don't need much water, but I didn't find any of that to be true. They need water, and they seem to prefer morning sun. The afternoon sun baked lots of them into sad shriveled little twigs.
But one of them seems to have tapped into a waterline and it's started dropping dozens of seeds! I can see why they are so hard to get rid of now!

I decided to give #Retroid's #Android experience another shot but it's just unbearably painful to use! JUST LET ME SHOW YOU THE ROM DIRECTORY! Why do I have to pick a directory for every fucking console!? Why does it take so many menu navigations just to do that? Why do I have to wait for them to import before I can import the next one!? Why don't the games autosave when I quit?

> Shinya “DevMiyax” Miyamoto posted on social media Tuesday that he’s testing out adding #RetroAchievements to his Saturn emulator, #YabaSanshiro.

@thejestpress I could tell this was a joke because we don't have #Sasquatch in #Arkansas, only #ChupaCabra.

#Android #emulators can probably handle all the games, but I dislike the user experience of fiddling with all the different emulators, and their different settings, or faffing with launchers and front ends trying to locate all the right directories. I prefer an #emulationStation or #RetroArch frontend that just boots to a list of games. I'm sick of configuring inputs for every system I want to play. A handheld should be pick up and play.

My replacement #RetroidPocket5 comes today!
I need to install #Linux on it (probably #Rocknix) and see how the #N64 and #segaSaturn compatibility is. My #Rockchip powered #Anbernic #RGArc doesn't have great #emulation support for a lot of #games, and the reason I bought the #Retroid was in hopes that the #Snapdragon GPU would have better compatibility
If it performs the same then I may just resell it because the problems I had with my last unit have not inspired me with confidence
