the nature of hands
we are cutters, as
a whole, and piercers;
we
will find bones and rocks
to shape them;
we are turning forests into spears,
arrows, hafts for blades.
I look and see
the endless belching smoke
past the highway,
the tower-flame of
unscalable Cliffs; they are
building spears, there,
we are always building spears.

A note about crystals: many cases originally designed to have a glass crystal cemented in cannot actually accept a snap-in plastic crystal. You might get one to fit, but they will eventually fall out.
The cement I use, one commonly used to cement glass crystals in place, will actually distort plastic crystals.
So, this one will get a proper mineral glass crystal once I measure this case and order one. Plastic is shit. Cracks. Scuffs. Scratches. Warps. Gets brittle. Falls out.

This also showed up today. A gold-plated 1915 Elgin 315. Yes, I know the crystal looks like shit. I will replace this plastic crap with a proper mineral-glass crystal. Some cheap bastard put a plastic in there years ago like some cheap drugstore watch.
It runs.
I will oil it tomorrow and maybe give the case a ride on the buffing wheel.
PS: i turned it over to photograph the back, and the shitty plastic crystal FELL OUT.

The Meteorological Musings Of A Rather Decaying And Incoherent Mind;
According to looking at the sky and the squirrels, there is a massive amount of moisture getting pulled from the gulf moving North West, and it appears that it is going to mix with a massive cold front coming down from the Northwest going south east, I'd say somewhere within the next 72 hours there is going to be a massive snow storm moving across the Rockies and dropping temperatures across the plains the South the Midwest and all the way into New England with widespread snow and rain throughout the country, don't take my word for it look at the sky and watch the squirrels;
