  1. I feel like it might be time to go all in on this stuff again. I really want a safe haven from all the BS.

  2. Figured out a problem with volume on tables. Remembered that under the 'coin door' setting there's a volume for games that have digital sound effects. Brought that up so it was at the same level as the 'table sounds' (like bumpers and flippers and stuff), and now it's completely playable!

  3. Status of Liberty has this engraved on it's pedastal

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

  4. Had to get this one up and running. IYKYK.

    :)

  5. Tonight I finally got back to almost par working on my machine. I had built the standard VPX Windows based box a while back and let me tell you - it SUCKED. Maintenance was almost impossible, and... it just sucked. The games played okay when they played, but debugging problems? Absolute nightmare.

This is now runnign on and is much easier to maintain. Here's Attack from Mars on it. It's good to be back.

  10. I just finished printing another panel for my workbench overhaul. It's super-quiet in my office, so after it finished printing, the print bed is cooling.

It's... very quietly crackling and settling as it cools and separates from t build plate.

It's like sitting next to a cozy fire.

  11. People in the EV Battery world. Enough with the "COMPANY X HAS MADE A BREAKTHROUGH!" "THIS WILL REVOLUTIONIZE CARS"

Bullshit. It's more investor click bait and noise. There was an absolutely brilliant reply in a reddit forum about a Hyundai posting, and it sums it up perfectly.

  16. Well, here’s another app I am removing from all my devices. “Termius” seemed like a very good ssh client for iOS devices. Had lots of good features, was relatively stable.

But their licensing is batshit. $10/mo for a HOBBIEST license. Forever. Never ending. For a fucking terminal program.

Eat shit guys. The company I work for has a staggeringly complex pair of programs that are the top tools in the industry, and they license THOSE for $10/mo.

  21. Saw this weird pricing setup at Wegmans the other night. Like, I get that people have to make a buck. But 50% more for buying only 6 cans rather than 12? That's... cmon guys.

  22. In other hobby news - my setup is giving me some hassles. I really want to get Addams Family to work correctly (other tables are working great), but holy crap these graphics look like ass. I wonder what i'm doing wrong.

  23. I'm trying, world, I really am. I love my little Lenovo Linux laptop. I'd spend 99% of my time on it.

If I could talk to iMessages.

The messaging platform my entire family uses.

But other than a sort of remote desktop model or setting up my mac to be available via a proxy, there doesn't seem to be an option.

    Wail. Woe. Whine.

  24. Here's my rant for the day. Google Calendar has been out for, what, 18 years? It's probably the most widely used calendaring system on the planet.

In this day and age, you cannot drag/drop an ICS file to it to add something to your calendar.

    Importing appointments byzantine.

    WTF?

  25. Okay, I need to find whoever decided that bolts for this trailer's hitch plate should have a 16mm head, and a 17mm NUT on the bottom (you know, ehre it's hard to see). Took me 15 minutes to realize the sizes were different. Fortunately, got everything loose, but sheesh Harbor Freight Or Whomever, that was irritating.

  26. Well dang. Project today was to swap out the hitch on the old trailer and put a new plate on. YYyyyeah, that's not going to happen. That upper plate is compeltely shot. Ordered a new one from harborfreight. $16. Can't complain too much.

  27. Made coffee cake for the first time! Delicious.

  28. OGG MAKE PRETTY LIGHT!

    Project stair lights continues.
