A fun bonus fact:
Even though the score displays have 6 digits in them, it can only control 5 of them. The last digit is hardwired to zero, just as old electro-mechanical games have fake reels that add zeroes to the score. This is why it's diagnostic error codes also always end with a zero.

The resistors measure fine, but I'm not seeing the operating voltage coming through this one segment's LED. I check them with a thermal camera but nothing seems to heat up out of ordinarily. I hope it's not the 7-segment itself as this model is getting rare.

Here's a rare board from the collection. This is Bally's Vidiot board and it's used in those very rare hybrid pinball/video-games. I've only seen two titles personally; Baby Pacman and Granny & The Gators.
The thing is extremely hacky build, with basically made of a video game and a pinball game that hate each others' guts and exist in the same cabinet by the power of sheer hate.
I've been hoping for this board to find a worthy rebuild project to resurrect a total loss game some day.

Our hideout, Hopeakuula Arcade as of May 2026. We've shuffled the machines around a bit to fit Mars Trek in there and in a blink and you miss it-moment there's also the stream machine corner too there now.
For those who don't know us yet, we're a volunteering hobbyist run arcade with a mission to keep pinball alive. We're open to the public once a week on Wednesdays and usually once a month on Saturdays. We also host anything from birthday parties to company get togethers to keep the lights on.
Located in #kouvola, #finland, we're one of the oldest still living hobbyist run arcades around. Come say hi if you find yourself in this corner of the world!
