  1. Creating Your Own Rituals for a Fulfilling Life

How's life? I have been painting houseplants and came up with the words "I'm here, and I'll always love you!" When I look at the moon and the stars, I feel these words. When I'm walking among flowers, during lovely spring mornings, I feel these words. When I say to the flowers," Good morning, my beauties, we are going to conquer the day," I feel these words. Today, I want to say I like my work better than yesterday! My strokes are loose; there may be a splatter from a project of the past. If […]

  2. Had to go to the doc’s this morning because my ears have spent the last week being bozos (I’m fine, thankfully it’s just allergies). The view out the window is one I’ve never captured to my liking, but today’s is fun and I officially dig this one.

Despite me being the only person in the waiting area and rows of empty seats behind me, twice a person chose to sit opposite and facing me, under the window, so that I was continually looking up at them and then down at my paper. Both of them had this funny moment of awareness, glancing up from their clipboards, when they realized I was in fact drawing the tree behind them, not them.

Greg: It’s so cute! Wait, what is THAT?

Me: Oh, that’s the jar of cotton balls in the exam room. Observe, how I have seamlessly blended the view of the gas station with the view of cotton balls.

    Greg: <nods> Obviously

  3. 🧵 People often ask me, how they could test, if they like #stitching without having learnt #embroidery. I recommend #intuitiveStitching, it's like #doodles with a needle and you see quick success. If you like it, you then can start to learn simple stitches. Just be wild and play like a child!

  4. 🧵 This yellow paper was dyed with an extremely stinky plant dye from our museum garden (Rubia tinctorum: never again! Smelled like an animal corpse).
And you can clearly see that I waited for a hospital appointment to find out if my meniscus has been exploded. Luckily, it’s still sitting nicely in place, I'm not a corpse yet, and I’ve gained a new page for my project! 🤭 😁

Today I drew the trees across the street, but first I painted the last thing in this particular notebook that I’d drawn but hadn’t colored in - a lunch date...

Hand-made #paper beads. They are rolled by hand on needles. The process to harden them like wood takes about one week, then they are ready for being used in #jewellery - and humidity-proof.
I only use materials that are approved for jewellery (which is not guaranteed with bargain goods).
