The Imbabura tree frog (Boana picturata) is a species of frog found in western Colombia, northwestern Ecuador. They are often described as looking like they are from outer space due to their intense, large, black-streaked blue-grey eyes and unusual skin texture. They hide and sleep inside bromeliads—plants that hold small pockets of water.

I'm pleased to report I have learned how to spot frogs. And that's no small thing. Their camoflague can be so good that they vanish while you're looking directly at them. It's genuinely astonishing.
