Dear Lazyweb. I have a #KVM #virtualmachine with a #qcow2 backing file. The file is sparse and uses ~ 5-6 GB for a 40GB virtual disk size. I want to take this and put it on an exfat 32GB USB stick which has #ventoy and several ISO files, and which will become part of my "recovery" strategy if something goes wrong with this specialized machine (it's going to run some microscope hardware). If I just copy it it will balloon to 40GB and fail. What is the right magic to accomplish this?

I’ve seen a kind of account here (and also on the Other Place) which I wanted to point out. Its traits are:
- sparse profile
- on a big, general-purpose mastodon instance
- relatively new account (since November 2022)
- high frequency posting (many per day)
- mostly posts professional-grade #photography of #nature, #scenery, #architecture, #history stuff, etc, from all around the world
- the photos are unattributed or insufficiently attributed
- often bilingual in Russian(?)
- follows and is followed by thousands — often follows way more than they could possibly read
- no engagement with anyone (replies, boosts, etc)
- you may become aware of them when they follow you, or because someone boosts their pretty pics.I’m not sure what the point of these accounts is, though I presume it’s something scammy. For instance they could be gathering thousands of followers for the pics, and then they’ll sell the account to someone who wants a ready-made audience.
I’m guessing that what they’re doing isn’t technically against their instance’s rules, so they’ll probably continue to exist. But this is just a heads up that you shouldn’t follow them or promote them. There are SO MANY people posting amazing photos on the Fediverse, which they’ve taken themself (or attribute properly), that you shouldn’t need to follow these scammy accounts. Speaking for myself, I’m going to start blocking them.

Last night when I left my local maker space I looked up and snap this picture. The moon and Jupiter in a close pairing with sparse clouds giving cool nebula like effect.
You can almost imagine the side of the building is the surface of a star ship and the moon is a star with the lens flares being star light illuminating a nebula. 🪐 -

Test: #lilygo #tbeam + #tbat + solar panel. 2 batteries: 1 in T-bat & 1 in T-beam. How long will this run for when sunshine is sparse? Will having 2 batteries help it last longer (panel output directly into T-beam lasted only 1 week). Why test? Can one use this as place & forget #solarnode? When T-beam battery runs out it needs a manual restart (bad for place & forget), but it can restart if gets clean 5V USB. Will T-bat solar-charge & make flat T-beam restart after it shut down? #meshtastic
