Beim fahren mit dem neuen #Renault5 stelle einen interessanten Effekt fest.
Ich fahre fast immer mit #Tempomat. Wenn ich mich einer Kreuzung nähere, muss ich aber eingreifen. Das mache ich normalerweise mit einem leichten antippender Bremse. Im Fahrmodus B - fast #OnePedalDriving - wird dann das nicht betätigte Gaspedal als Brems-Signal gelesen. D.h. Ich muss schnell wieder Gas geben, um nicht zu stark abzubremsen. -

I took a couple of #renault5 s out for a test today.
Power is adequate. Handling is superb. It's a lot of fun to hustle along a back road. Tyres have just the right level of grip. Tech is slick, and very Renault (radio controls on a separate stalk, lol!)
Techno trim does all I need, I don't think Iconic brings enough to the party for the extra €2k. #ev
Still undecided on the colour. Blue harks back to the Clio Williams?

Im currently waiting for the delivery of my first fully electric car, a #Renault5etech. 7 years ago, I bought a #PluginHybrid car, which I thing was a good decision then because of the prices. But for at least the last 2-3 years it felt cumbersome.

...and mounted a towbar. Because it was super cheap as nobody seems to buy one for a ~20 year old car with an electric parking brake and no hill brake assist. Hey, I just need to be aware of that limitation.
160€ including shipping is a great price. Parts are powder coated. I just need to splice into the tail lights, which will be done tomorrow.
I will put some fuses in the wires to the trailer connector - I really do not want to disassemble the front of the car to get to the fuse box if trailer wiring is bad.

Spent multiple hours just getting the cover on the fusebox and remounting the bumper.
In the end I used a dremel to remove some material from the cover to allow it to slide in place with a car around it while still clipping in place and being waterproof.
The way Renault wants this to happen is to remove battery, battery tray, ECU, some air filter stuff and slide the fuse thingy in from the side.

Here we go... for some reason the engine must be running to get error codes from the ECU. I can't clear them while the engine is running and I cannot access the ECU with the engine off. Maybe something about can bus gateways?
DF232 is the sensor connector (ordered a new one, readings are ok if zip tied in place).
DF1070 seems to be "AC compressor took too much power" e.g. to disable the AC in case the compressor broke. I was told that the detection is not great and it sometimes just triggers. There seems to be a software update to improve this detection, but I need to get it from a Renault dealership.
I'll replace the broken connector and try to find a way to reset the ECU DTCs next. Baybe it works with the "default" OBD2 setting or I need to enable some CAN gateway switches...
