🚍⚡ First Bus is working with West #Yorkshire Combined Authority to support sustainability at UKREiiF 2026, the #UK regeneration and #infrastructure conference in Leeds from 19–21 May. The operator will run a jointly funded zero-emission shuttle linking #Leeds train station with Leeds Dock for delegates. The service is expected to support more than 16,000 visitors across the three-day event. The “Sustainable Shuttle Bus” will run every 15 minutes from Neville Street, using electric buses from First Bus’s fleet, the largest in West Yorkshire based at its Bramley depot. Operating times are 7:30–10:30 and 15:45–17:15 each day. First Bus says the initiative demonstrates how integrated, low-carbon transport can reduce congestion and encourage car-free travel into the city, with passengers able to reach the venue directly from the station.

🏗️🛤️ Contracts have been signed to restore passenger rail services to #Portishead and Pill for the first time since 1964, marking a major milestone for the long-awaited scheme. Two new stations and around three miles of track will be built, with construction now under way and services expected to begin in winter 2028/29. The project, involving Morgan Sindall, Colas Rail and AmcoGiffen, will reconnect more than 50,000 people to the rail network.
