  1. "Emergency services were called to the Bristol to Bath Railway Path near Bitton around 8pm yesterday evening (August 11) after the attack."

It's the Bristol AND Bath Railway Path; it's not a one-way facility. 🤦‍♂️

  3. It doesn't help that when I report fly-tipping, Bristol Waste manages to find excuses not to remove it, often for spurious reasons.

3 reported yesterday, 1 rejected, even though that one was at a fly-tipping hotspot.

  12. Re. tomorrow’s #SolarEclipse!

The lovely people at the UK’s Science and Technology Facilities Council (#STFC) are doing a live stream for those who cannot watch it themselves: public-engagement.stfc.ac.uk/e

I will be using my #eclipse glasses from my first total eclipse (#Bombay/#Mumbai, 1995 – en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_ec), when our school arranged for all the pupils to be supplied with them. (Geddit? Pupils? Huehuehue.)

Cannot wait to see tomorrow’s (albeit partial) eclipse from #Bristol!

  13. "There are thousands of people across this city with similar stories, although most of them will never appear in a newspaper or stand up in the council chamber.

They simply get up every morning and go to work. They work in hospitals and care homes, drive taxis and buses, build houses, clean offices, run shops and restaurants, work in warehouses, teach children and start businesses.

They pay rent, mortgages and taxes and their children grow up here as Bristolians.

That is why I get frustrated when the word ‘immigrant’ is thrown around as though it describes a single type of person. It doesn’t."

  15. First Bus will revise 24 services in the #Bristol area from Sunday 30 August to accommodate major redevelopment work in Broadmead.

The changes will follow the long-term closure of Union Street and the permanent removal of traffic from The Horsefair and Penn Street. Customers will use new bus stops and diversionary routes, with full details available on the First Bus website.

First Bus said it had worked with Bristol City Council and the Combined Authority to keep diversions as straightforward as possible and would support customers as they become familiar with the changes.

The changes form part of wider First Bus West of #England timetable and route adjustments aimed at improving punctuality and reliability and supporting travel at the start of the new academic year.

  24. Murals going up on Dove St Flats, Bristol
Artists include: cheo, silent hobo, sepr and hazard one.
Really nice contribution to the area. I wonder if it'll complicate the attempts by tv drama film crews to use it as an "edgy" inner city housing estate location, or will they find it helps

  28. Central #Bristol is full of Plod causing mayhem closing roads to protect #racists and #fascists.

  29. @ChrisMayLA6 @TheSwiv Planning enforcement is more or less non-existent here in #Bristol and it's supposed to be one of the country's major cities.

    That speaks volumes.
