Is this an attempted 'brushing' scam?

I've received a card via a tracked Royal Mail service. No name, return address or other info on the envelope. The card itself has Thank You design but is otherwise blank. I typed the tracking no into the mail site (I didn't scan any bar codes or follow any links) and that part is legit. The tracking shows it came from near Birmingham, UK and a picture of the letter box in the delivery confirmation.

Anyone care to explain the vagaries of the #royalmail tracking app?
“ we have your item and it’s on the way” last updated Wednesday when it arrived at Heathrow 🙈🙈🙈 probably the next will be ‘we’ve delivered your item “ tomorrow morning!!

Yet another example of privatised essential services prioritising profit.
There are already lots of examples of people not getting medical letters in time. And then being taken of waiting lists for non attendance, adding to the UKs health issues.

"The postal company has warned customers who use its wholesale postal service for mail including marketing letters, household bills and medical appointment notices that it is raising prices by an average of 25% from 5 October.'

Consumer #Scotland has published a report into its findings in #Shetland, #Orkney and the #WesternIsles, saying #islanders faced “high #postal costs” and “inconsistent services”.

The UK’s private postal company (which bizarrely calls itself “Royal Mail”) has written to say that the are improving the service by reducing deliveries (of second class mail) from six days a week to two or three.
Why can’t they just be honest and say that they are trying to contain costs?

1/ halving the number of deliveries each week is not a "small change".

2/ it's nothing to do with dependable. It's about cost-cutting.

These lies are being delivered to every home in the UK. No punishment, of course, 'cos corporate mendacity isn't criminalised.

I'm seeing claims that #RoyalMail uses this method to hide the dates (machine or hand cancels with stamps usually have a date on them) so folk can't tell how long its taking to deliver the mail, but that would require switching off the part of the automatic machine on the conveyor belt that does the cancellation - its normally only unusually shaped envelopes or anything that can't be auto processed that gets a hand cancel..

I'm sorry #RoyalMail, but if you send me a notification that my parcel is at my local delivery office, and will be delivered between 10:10 and 14:10 today, you should effing well deliver it. No ifs, no buts.

They should be made to remove the Royal part of their name, rebranding to something more accurate such as "Can't Be Arsed Mail" or "Fuck You Mail".

In other news, the Amazon Prime order I placed on Thursday for delivery on Friday wasn't even dispatched until today (Saturday) and will arrive two days after it was required. Even worse, they wouldn't let me cancel it despite the fact it hasn't even been dispatched. I shall take no pleasure in sending it back.

Not an expression of republican sentiment - but a pen cancellation of a #postage #stamp by #RoyalMail #Chelmsford - maybe because the sender used an odd shaped envelope - it is from one of our service users who pays by cheque, they tend to be seniors who still use notepaper and writing cases!

When I worked at RM there were hand stamps for this if the sorting machine didn't auto cancel the stamps. but they have likely been abandoned to save time and costs post privatisation, and RM don't want the stamp being reused, especially at £1.80 a time!

We had a leaflet through the door from the postman to tell us that the service is going to start being shit. Which is quite a surprise as it got shit several years back.

To be honest if they keep to their promise to deliver letters every second day, that's going to be a significant improvement on what we currently get.

Quick #rant. Any customer service on hold message that says that they are busier than normal are lying. Since Covid they have simply not invested in customer service and long wait times are a deliberate way to get you to sod off. Today I am battling with #RoyalMail. They want me to "show kindness and consideration to their team". Shame their management don't.

If I ever get through I want to ask them to stop sending me notifications for other peoples packages. If they aren't super helpful them I'm reporting a data breach to #OfCom.

since a fucking billionaire took control of royal mail, the service has become abysmal - & i don't blame the posties.

Am I missing a trick here with the Royal Mail Amazon returns service? Where the heck is the option to print the label. This is my second go. The first time I chose the option for the label be brought when collecting, but the postie didn't have it so I though I'd print my own this time. Tried Firefox and Brave browsers.
