  6. After implementing an infrared protocol prototype on the badge and succesfully tweaking the frequency to 38kHz (because my Marantz apparently doesn't like the official 36kHz), it turns out that the infrared emitter on the is underpowered:

only from about 30cm does it read my signals 😩 -- not so useful for a remote 😂

    Back to the drawing board.

(BTW: The helpful could use an IR-read-RAW-always mode improvement.)

  8. When management suggested pay cuts of 10% for their work force, did they lead by good example and cut their own pay by more?

It could be, but I read no such thing.

If the strong shoulders can't take a 25% pay cut, I don't see a reason why the weaker ones should lose ten.

  14. Since Passover is nearly here, it seems time to make this (unfortunately) evergreen announcement.

  15. "Welcoming the stranger - and opening one’s home to guests at the #seder - is a defining theme of #Passover, the eight-day spring holiday known as the #FestivalofFreedom.

That idea echoes through several of this year’s new Passover #childrensbooks, many of which also highlight the #prophetess #Miriam and feature a lively cast of animals - from hopping frogs to chatty parrots - alongside family-centered #holiday scenes.

    2026 Passover #children's #books..."

  19. "Is G-d sending simple sons like me a message by making this year’s first #seder night fall on #AprilFools’ Day? It’s hard to ignore the timing. If anything could tempt a #Jewish #atheist to glance up at the heavens and stroke his chin, it’s a cosmic coincidence like this.

The #SimpleSon has always been my favourite seder sibling. The moniker does him no favours. “Simple” does not mean stupid. A mind devoid of thought. That misses what matters most about him. The #Haggadah’s unfairly maligned halfwit is a misunderstood character who sees the rituals around the table and asks the most important question of all: “What is this?”
