It should be noted that this "Megalodon" has nothing to do with the #Fediverse API project or the old pink Megalodon Fediverse App.
"On May 18, 2026, an automated campaign codenamed megalodon pushed 5,718 malicious commits to 5,561 GitHub repositories in a six-hour window. Using throwaway accounts and forged author identities (build-bot, auto-ci, ci-bot, pipeline-bot), the attacker injected GitHub Actions workflows containing base64-encoded bash payloads that exfiltrate CI secrets, cloud credentials, SSH keys, OIDC tokens, and source code secrets to a C2 server at 216.126.225.129:8443." #Mastodon #MastoAdmin #Megalodon #Github

3/ It looks like the reason #Ohio is pausing the Home Waiver program provider enrollment is because of a recent hit piece by right-wing The Daily Wire.
The next day, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee wrote to the director of Ohio’s Medicaid program questioning the validity of paying family caregivers following a critical report by a conservative website.
It should be noted, the home waiver programs saves Federal and State Medicaid programs around $100K per patient getting nursing home level care at home vs warehoused in a nursing home, run substandard by a venture capital firm and private equity. Most of the labor is free.
Congress letter https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Ltr-to-Ohio-Dept-of-Medicaid.pdf
One of the home health companies on the list, ZNC Health Care, has a state audit.

Ohio GOP and JD Vance strikes again: Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies Provider Enrollment Moratorium for Ohio Medicaid
The #Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is implementing a temporary moratorium on the enrollment of new Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) providers. This action aligns with federal guidance issued through CMS-6099-N and is authorized under 42 CFR 455.470. ODM is implementing this optional moratorium to support federal program integrity efforts and to ensure consistent oversight of high-risk provider types.
Moratorium Effective Dates: June 10, 2026, through December 10, 2026.
What This Means for #Ohio #Medicaid Providers and Stakeholders:
ODM will not accept new Medicaid enrollment applications for DMEPOS suppliers during the moratorium.
Existing enrolled providers may request a DMEPOS specialty during this period.
Currently enrolled DMEPOS providers may continue to provide services, bill Medicaid, and update their provider information as needed.Revalidations and changes to existing provider records will continue to be processed. #USPol
Exceptions are allowed as permitted under 42 CFR 424.570(a)(1)(iii) and 42 CFR 424.550.

Longtime #Cincinnati noon news anchor/medical reporter Liz Bonis loses life to colon cancer #Ohio She was at her news desk even in her last days
"Even after her April 2023 diagnosis and five surgeries, Liz was determined, not to be the story, but to get the story. Even at the end of her life, she told no one about her fight. Instead, she reported vigorously on new medical technology and cancer treatments even as her options dwindled."
"Liz participated in six clinical trials for experimental oncology drugs during her last four years. Through these, she courageously fought what ultimately became a fatal war with colon #cancer."

Saga of the new shelter cat rescue: Penny woke up and #MillieCat was sleeping at her head and #SissyCat was sleeping at her feet. lol Sissy never slept with her. She sleeps with me usually.
Last night was the first time Millie was free to roam outside of the Cat Room basecamp at night
Sissy is now making allowances for Millie, like giving up spaces that she took over after our late #LittleBit passed away. She is holding her spaces that Little Bit gave up when we brought Sissy home from the shelter, though.

As always, it's ok to #AMA about my feeding tube. In 2012, after getting my tube and getting no information about how to care for it or use it, I joined social media to advocate and help people, including posting YouTube care and instructional videos. On Twitter, my profile handle was #FeedingTubePaul
So, whether you need help with one, you or a loved one has been told you need one, you are choking and feel one might be in your future and you are worried, or just curious about 14-years with one, the diet, socializing with it, etc ask me anything. #Medical #FeedingTube #MedMastodon

We had to change out my feeding tube last night and it was the first time doing so since we got the new EN-Fit style tubes. We've been requesting legacy Y-Port tubes so we can use up our supplies. The new tube has a hard silicon ring at the bottom of the balloon tip to prevent a tube from popping out if the balloon that keeps it in burst.
This means, after you remove the water from the balloon and go to pull it out, it won't come out because the ring is larger than your stoma (hole going from the outside in.) You have to gently tug it out. It's a good idea, esp if you ever had a tube come out and the stoma close up overnight.
A hundred things went through our minds as to why it wouldn't come out after changing the tube every three or four months for 14-years and it just coming out, sometimes on its own because you have gas in the belly.
We pretty much hate the new EN-Fit feeding tubes. Everything has to be screwed in, the ports stay nasty, they don't let people with motor control issues to self-administer, etc. #FeedingTube #Medical #MedMastodon

2/ #PaulsYard #noMow #Wildflower #Garden photo in daytime. Will be starting the side raised fruit and vegetable garden soon. #Gardening
Legend:
1> needs spacing move.
2> Wheelchair deck and ramp is getting moved to this door.
3> only lawn, push mow battery mower for visiting doggies, clippings, etc. Will be seeded naturally.
4> Wildflower meadow
5> AC will be removed since we have low voltage HVAC now, recycled matching siding
6> Going to paint siding sandstone with hunter green for posts, doors, etc to match new room -
If you are following #PaulsYard, here is the view of the front yard #NoMow #WildFlower meadow from today's work from the security camera. The front yard edging and mulch beds, that surround the meadow, is now 90% done. We call that the horseshoe.
Tomorrow, The side yard raised bed garden work begins.
The front yard when completed will have one patch of grass next to the driveway that is 6 ft wide and around 20 ft long just for any visiting dogs to have a grassy place to potty. #Gardening
I'll have Penny take extra pictures tomorrow in the daylight

Oh crud. Where we live in #AppalachianOhio you don't have to get "building permits. #Ohio
Yesterday, I found out that you are supposed to self-report to the county auditor (tax dept) any "improvements" over $2000 within 60 days of starting or they hit you hard when they do the property reevaluations or, if they find out about it, and our Republican county is big on hitting people hard.
I am self-reporting today to reduce any penalties, if any.
"Upon the discovery of a building or improvement that has been constructed but of which the county auditor has not been notified as required by this section, the county auditor shall appraise it and place it upon the tax list and duplicate at its taxable value, together with a penalty equal to fifty per cent of the amount of taxes that would have been charged against the building or improvement from the date of construction to the date of discovery had the county auditor been notified of its construction as required by this section."
If we end up in tax court, everybody on the fediverse knows we started our improvements with the intent of replacing the flat roof, #PaulsRoof, (which should be exempt from reporting) then at some point, decided to turn the carport into a health room after the bad winter prevented Penny from going to elective cardiac rehab like she did three times per week for over a year after her heart attack.
:ohio2: Section 5713.17 | Duty to notify county auditor of improvement costing over $2,000 - penalty - examination of buildings.

If you are following #PaulsYard, so far so good. Lots of work left but we have some help plus we still have the garden club that is going to do a weekend soon, helping with the raised beds, etc.
If you are wondering about the center dirt, it is seeded with 3-season bloom wildflowers. #NoMow
The old through-the-wall AC on the porch will be getting yanked out soon and when we did #PaulsRoof, we reclaimed enough siding to patch it.
We have a good helper. He only wanted $8 per hour but we couldn't pay that morally and pay him $15 an hour, or depending on the job, we do it flat rate for the job so he can work around the heat and sun, etc, with just a deadline, like two or three days. #Gardening

It's a testament of the Fediverse.

3/ Night One: #MillieCat is spending her first night in segregation in the "Cat room" as she gets used to her new home and family. Mostly, her choice. She does love petting, scratches, and purrs.
She took a cat nap with her head in my hand but that was as far as she would go.
She finally took treats from my hand and played with a little plush toy with me. I kept dropping the treats in front of her 2 or so inches further each time until we were nose to nose almost. When I was petting her, after the treats, she did a roll and body flip to tell me where to scratch.
Penny and I are covering ourselves with her scent and after 8 hours or so, #SissyCat no longer hisses at us. lol. We also are swapping the toys out.
Millie cleaned one of Sissy's plushies and feathers and #SissyCat cleaned a plushie and a feather that Millie played with.
She is missing the shelter. There, she was the queen. #CatsOfMastodon #Cats
This would be easier if Millie would just let us get an FBI background check for her review. She is making us earn it.
When we got Sissy, she came in, got out of the cage, the late #LittleBit hissed at her, she slapped him, and all was well with the world. 😸
