Läser #SovejBalle's Om udregning af rumfang (bok 3 av 6 just nu). Det har dragits paralleller till Bill Murray-filmen Måndag hela veckan, men det verk som det mest av allt påminner mig om är solorollspelet Thousand Year Old Vampire (#TYOV).

I TYOV spelar man en vampyr, en odödlig, och antecknar dess minnen. Årtionden passerar, världen förändrar sig och man kan bara ha fem minnen (det är sen gammalt).

No sabía que iba a salir este juego en castellano. Yo lo tengo en inglés y os lo recomiendo muy muy fuerte. Es el primer juego de rol en solitario que pruebo que funciona como un reloj. Y si además sois frikis de escribir a mano como yo os va a dar una excusa maravillosa para usar todas esas estilográficas y cuadernos que tenéis por casa :flan_guns: Por cierto, impresionante la web que se ha montado la editorial, te explica el juego perfectamente e incluso te pone ejemplos de partida. Y por experiencia os digo que es algo que ayuda mucho a pillar el tono.

@wholeenchilada @zozo Solo games are great for giving you something to react to narratively and inspiring you to spend outwards from them. There are a ton of journaling games out there which are very specifically about that sort of thing but I admit I'm fond of games like Ironsworn (technically Starforged - https://www.ironswornrpg.com/product-ironsworn-starforged ) which have a little more mechanical underpinning but whose mechanics in turn introduce complications and provide you some sort of inspiration for deciding what those complications are.

That on the table, you can never go wrong with Thousand-year-old Vampire (https://thousandyearoldvampire.com/) or The Magus (https://momatoes.itch.io/the-magus) for that journaling experience.

Dear bilingual (and polyglot) role-players, do your characters switch languages while you are playing? My #ThousandYearOldVampire started off as a British man, but just learned German (and Fering, but that is pure fiction) which made journaling a bit easier for me.

Same question for games that aren’t translated into your main language: Do you play them using your father's tongue or in the language they are written in?

"A Collection of Improving Exercises" is the newest "game book" from @timh. I hear it's extremely weird and fun and I can't wait to get my copy.

Tim is also the creator of "Thousand Year Old Vampire", another single player RPG which I highly recommend picking up too. These games are such utterly unique experiences that I'll never shut up about them. Everybody should play them at least once. 17. Thousand year old vampire (Tim Hutchings). Hasta ahora no me había encontrado un juego de rol en solitario que funcionase con un equilibrio tan perfecto. Todo lo que había visto ahora era o bien un elige tu propia aventura vitaminado donde hacías poco más que tirar dados e ir a leer donde te mandaban, bien algo súper abstracto que delegaba en el jugador toda la responsabilidad. #TYOV encuentra un equilibrio que funciona como un reloj. Te plantea situaciones evocadoras pero abiertas para ayudar a tu imaginación sin caer en el railroading. Te obliga a tomar decisiones, a gestionar el olvido y la memoria. Y te hace pensar. Mucho. En la primera partida que jugué el tiempo voló sin darme cuenta y llené hojas y hojas con las desventuras de mi pobre vampiro. Una maravilla.

Posiblemente este haya sido uno de los mejores regalos que me hayan hecho nunca. No sólo es algo que me gusta (un juego de rol) adaptado a mis circunstancias actuales (en solitario) sino que además no lo conocía y me ha encantado. Ayer leí las reglas y ahora estoy deseando sacar tiempo para empezar a jugarlo.

I should give a quick #introduction.

I'm a #ruby software developer working on web apps.

Outside of that, I'm playing #ttrpg and rolling dice. I'm currently in a long running #Starfinder and #CallOfCthuhlu campaign.

If I'm not doing that, I'm probably writing for #nanowrimo (at least this month) or for my own tabletop projects.
