Lueskelin nyt Wanderhome -roolipelin ilmaisversin ja vaikuttipa mukavalta, kuulemma tässä voi jo ihan hyvin viettää pelisession hahmoja rakennellen ja jättää kamppiksen vaikka siihen.

Mielenkiintoista on pelin ohjeissa painotus sille että tässä keskitytään matkaan, ei päämäärään ja että matkalla kohdattujen paikkojen ongelmia ei tulla ratkaisemaan.

Ratkaisun avaimet kun ovat paikallisten käsissä ja heitä voidaan toki autella, mutta ulkopuolisten matkalaisten tulee jatkaa matkaa. Toisaalta hyvinkin Nuuskamuikkusfiiliksiä ja toisaalta täysin sitä vastaan.

Tässä vielä ihana kohta säännöistä:

"Once we have our place, some kith and each other,, we’re going to want to start playing. Every time we gather to play Wanderhome, we will answer these questions together:
- What sort of place did we just travel from?
- Do we feel our journey has been long?
- Is there somewhere we hope to go?

Every time we gather to play Wanderhome, we will each answer this question silently, in our heads:
- Will I someday find a home?"

Been reading the #Wanderhome TTRPG manual by Jay Dragon, and wow it’s hard not to cry at every single page. Every paragraph feels like a hug. Can’t wait to play it, even solo :)

Bei @systemmatters läuft bis zum 15.12. die Vorbestellaktion für #wanderhome und ich hab euch mal eines meiner Lieblingszitate rausgesucht, das mich beim Übersetzen sehr ins Herz getroffen und mein eigenes Schreiben beeinflusst hat. Und ja, die letzten 2 Sätze auf dem 2. Bild - die stehen (im Original, weil die Übersetzung damals noch nicht endgültig fertig war) vorne in meiner Novelle. Weil das Übersetzen dieses Spiels mein Schreiben noch mal sehr beeinflusst hat.

Here's an old post from @Indiegamereadingclub that describes how I've been running #KidsOnBrooms using tools I've picked up from PbtA and BOB games like #Wanderhome. My prep takes ~20 minutes because I only sketch a situation and a few toys for key scenes, and let the players imaginations fill in the rest.

For example, maybe the ice tunnels were made by an ice worm? I let the dice decide, and then let the dice decide again if you can melt an ice worm. (Y & Y, btw)

How would you feel about an RPG / literary game where you coordinate permanent housing for displaced people and climate refugees, making sure it's sustainable, inhabitants have all the facilities they need and space to process their traumas and hard emotions, find new footing and hopes?

I'm imagining it similar to #wanderhome when it comes to emotional heaviness, maybe with some Yazeba vibes / mechanics.

@dregntael it's quite different from #wanderhome , which focuses on the journey, never staying in a single place / community for too long. I find more interesting opportunities for drama by jumping between a few known, well-defined, character-created communities, allowing you to get more emotionally invested and fully knowing the price of escalating a conflict.
