The form « Door Monster Treasure » of #DnD has been talked about at length. The form « Uncle Mansion Cultist » of #callofCthuhlu has also been covered at length.
#cyberpunk direly needs the form « Johnson Mission Money » to be taken at the back of the cybercoffeeshop, and mercy-killed, and its organs sold to a MedCorp.
Streamer playing Wild Arms Lore% and talking about the proliferation in the 90s of the term "Al Hazard" in Japan. It gave me the cursed idea for a Spirit of 77 campaign called The Dukes of Al-Hazzard.
Gibt es irgendwo ein #Cthulhu Abenteuer das zur Zeit der #DDR spielt? Gern auch mit Einbeziehung der DDR Führung und der Wandlitz Siedlung. #CallofCthuhlu #AchtungCthulhu #chaosium #deltagreen #rollenspiel #pnpde
Spent a bunch of time this morning finding 1920s catalogs and resources for my Call of Cthulhu game, so the players can familiarize themselves with what was available, prices and fashions if they want.
I found a 1922 Sears and Roebuck catalog, and a 1920 Eaton's catalog (Canadian department store). I'd really like to also get a 1920s Hudson's Bay Company catalog, but internet archive doesn't have any.
I also picked up a woman's fashion catalog, a couple of 1920s firearms importer catalogs, and the Sears gravestone and Memorial catalog, so when players die they can pick their gravestones out of it
So, it looks like I may not be able to rely on some of the handouts that I printed out for The Haunting, because only one of my players can comfortably read cursive XD

@nachdemsturm Das war sehr spaßig, einen Nachmittag in #CallOfCthuhlu...wait for it...unterzutauchen.
Trying to remember the title of a #CallofCthuhlu module where a series of horrible prisons were described. One of them was a mine in South America where prisoners were left to their own devices in the darkness, and their name was called three times over three days and if they did not appear they were considered dead.
Does this ring a bell? Can anyone help me?
BTW it was the Call of Cthulhu adventure "The Lightless Beacon", most of the adventure happens on Beacon Island. DM threatened to create one more enemy for everytime one of us mispronounces it as Bacon Island instead of Beacon Island

Chaosium is releasing their new adventure "Order of the Stone" in October 2024, and I am particularly looking forward to this one because of reasons. 👀 🎨

If anybody wants to dive into Call of Cthulhu: The Humble Bundle https://www.humblebundle.com/books/call-cthulhu-chaosium-inc-books has all necessary books for players, referees and solo players for small money.
Jfc... when will this buying spree end...
I just noticed the insane value humble bundle deal for Call of Cthulhu, so even though I've been reading through Death in Space (and really wanna run that game now), running an RPG set in interwar period Berlin has long been a dream of mine...
Damn it!

I should give a quick #introduction.
I'm a #ruby software developer working on web apps.
Outside of that, I'm playing #ttrpg and rolling dice. I'm currently in a long running #Starfinder and #CallOfCthuhlu campaign.
If I'm not doing that, I'm probably writing for #nanowrimo (at least this month) or for my own tabletop projects.
When solo-playing, I'm currnetly loving Thousand Year Old Vampire. (Is there a #tyov community over here yet?)
My latest #CallofCthuhlu #ttrpg scenario set in 1920s Scotland
Been trying to break out of my Game Master comfort zone lately by running some modern systems. (My comfort zone is supernatural mystery #CallofCthuhlu #GUMSHOE). The results have been mixed.
Ran the Sentinels Comics RPG and had a great time. Went even better than expected. Will run again.
Ran a couple of #PBtA. Middling results. I think I'd try again but maybe not for me.
Blades in the Dark. Just didn't click my GM style at all. Would play but not GM.
