Okay. #Altered is definitely my new obsession!
Unlike other #TCGs it actually has a realistic collection goal due to POD. Less booster lottery too so prices for singled are fine. Tying cards digitally also makes it not rely on a LGS and local players to be able to play and opens the door to a global community with simultaneously collectible/trade and play aspect without the toxicity that comes with high stakes in rarity and competition.
I think this is really the optimal game in this genre!

It's been a while since I've posted a decklist, I really should do that more often...
I recently felt #inspired to revisit ol' Edric here and his friendly band of misfits. The deck still focuses on 1-drop 1/1s with evasion, but the biggest changes I've made involve adding a bit more contingency plans and resiliency to the deck, with Reclaim and Noxious Revival as examples of some spot recursion to get a key piece back, or Elixir of Immortality in case someone wants to exile the graveyard or in the event of an empty library. Cards like Heroic Intervention in case of a board wipe or other shenanigans.
Essentially by sacrificing min/maxing on the number of sneakies, the hope is that the other pieces will help guard against other forms of threats and increase consistency in its performance.

¡¿PINKERTONS, VIVOS?! #WizardsOfTheCoast mandó a un equipo de la agencia Pinkerton (si, esos) a incautar un set de cartas de #MagicTheGathering, #MarchOfTheMachineAftermath en la casa de un youtuber, provocandole el llanto a su esposa.
El creador de contenido de Magic Oldschoolmtg recibió por error de su proveedor de cartas una expansión llamada March of the Machine Aftermath, que todavía no debería estar disponible al público (al contrario que March of the Machine a secas), y aprovechó para hacer un video de unboxing.
March... salió el viernes, mientras que Aftermath sale a la venta el 12/5, con avances oficiales estipulados para principio del mes. Sin embargo, parece que alguien en el proveedor los confundió, y le mandó varias cajas de sobres de Aftermath al youtuber. Oldschoolmtg reveló en su video unas 36 cartas de las 50 que componen el set de Aftermath.
Poco después, el sábado de mañana, su esposa abrió la puerta y se encontró con agentes Pinkerton que habían venido a incautar la propiedad "robada" de Wizards y amenazando con mandarlo a su marido a la cárcel. La mujer se asustó, y comenzó a llorar. "Espero que mi proveedor no haya recibido una visita de los Pinkerton también." dijo Oldschoolmtg.
También dijo que los agentes le sugirieron llamar a Wizards para aclarar el asunto. Según Oldschoolmtg, la persona que le respondió en Wizards fue muy amable y se disculpó por lo sucedido. Un representante de Wizards dijo a io9 que todo esto es parte de su "investigación para averiguar donde sucedió la fuga del producto", y aunque no dio más detalles, no negó la contratación de los Pinkerton.
Los Pinkerton, hoy día propiedad de la empresa sueca Securitas AB, son una de las primeras agencias de detectives de los EEUU, y luego se dedicaron a romper huelgas y servir de fuerza de choque contra las organizaciones sindicales en ese país. Cuando todas las ciudades tuvieron su propia fuerza policial, siguieron haciendo de las suyas pero también se diversificaron, y ahora incautan cartas Magic.
Amazon contrató en 2020 a Pinkerton para espíar a sus trabajadores de depósitos por cualquier indicio de actividad sindical. Starbucks hizo lo propio en 2022, aunque contratando a un ex-Pinkerton.
