  1. I hope I manage to cut roughly 900 cards of Future Invader card game to play at #hackmas, let the sleep deprivation begin! #futureinvaders #cardgames

  2. “The trick to making a small game feel big isn't adding more stuff. It's making sure the things you have interact with each other in multiple ways.”

The 11th Behind-the-Scenes issue has to be one of the most insightful ones to date!

  4. Monday? Nope, it's PRINT DAY!

And I printed two games that couldn’t be further apart.

One takes me to the year 2089 to rebuild humanity’s planetary neural network before a rogue program wipes it out, while the other makes me form a band of magical Bards waiting to get their big break at a festival!

Curious? Get to know both games in my 129th newsletter issue!

#magic #games #cardgames #cartas #magicthegathering #reglas

  6. We played #Pentaquest, #Fliptoons, and #dnup during tonight's monthly gathering of friends virtual game night. We meet up over zoom and play games in private tables on #BoardGameArena.

It's not the same as meeting in person, but it's pretty close and is a nice way to hang out with friends dispersed all over the world. We've been playing #BoardGames, #PartyGames, and #CardGames this way at least once a month since 2020.

Next Friday is our local in-person monthly community game night.

  7. PC Gamer: The Pokémon Company is turning to facial recognition scans to help combat scalpers. “Nintendo has announced the rollout of a facial recognition system and new entry and purchase rules for its Pokémon stores in Japan. It’s not exactly a last-ditch effort, but it’s yet another attempt at combating scalpers which have been plaguing the hobby ever since its inception.”

  9. So, what exactly makes a game great?

For my 120th issue, I wrote about the elements that come together to make a game feel special, and a lovely little print-and-play project that seems to have covered all grounds!
