  1. A small hand reaches into the tin, fingers excitedly hovering over the treats inside. The choice should be simple: take a biscuit, any biscuit. But no: two biscuits are better than one, and three better than two. Yet, if the little hand takes too long to make up its mind, the little burglar will be discovered. Well, it's time to Risk It For A Biscuit by Jessica Metheringham from @dissent.

  2. PC Gamer: The Pokémon Company is turning to facial recognition scans to help combat scalpers. “Nintendo has announced the rollout of a facial recognition system and new entry and purchase rules for its Pokémon stores in Japan. It’s not exactly a last-ditch effort, but it’s yet another attempt at combating scalpers which have been plaguing the hobby ever since its inception.”

  6. You put down a bowl of soft food, and moments later, you hear the jingle of her collar. Here she comes! First, she pauses at the conservatory door and watches you for a while. You eagerly point at the wonderfully fresh food, enticing her to come in and eat. She turns away to look out into her domain, our back garden. Eventually, she strolls over - in her own time. Of course, whether she's ready for her lunch, when she eats, or indeed, where she eats, is all her own choice. As her pet dad, you just Take Cat by Gareth Edwards from Gibsons with art by Juliana Eigner.

  7. So, what exactly makes a game great?

For my 120th issue, I wrote about the elements that come together to make a game feel special, and a lovely little print-and-play project that seems to have covered all grounds!

  8. This #aggro #tempo #Hearthstone #meta makes me want to #puke.

For several #expansions now it has been nothing but aggro tempo, over and over. By turn 7 or turn 8 you are already dead, sometimes even turn 6. #Brainless in my eyes.

Every other #CCG out there manages to build a #healthy meta, only the one with the biggest #budget and the most #resources keeps failing at it. #Pathetic. How is a game this #popular and this #funded still stuck in the same boring #curve every single set? Give me #control, give me #combo, give me some actual #decisions.

  10. What's the weirdest thing you've ever replaced a board game piece with?

A pawn was missing from 7 Wonders: Duel so we had to play with a packet of butter at the board game café 😂. No pieces were buttered during the game but I did enjoy the extra silliness!

  12. Homebrew developers have recreated the social card game Coup on the Sega Saturn, pioneering six-player online multiplayer with lobbies on this 31-year-old console. But some may disagree with how they accomplished it. I've got the details:

  13. A maze. A villain. A bunch of trapped innocent critters.

A game where bedtime is survival!

Say hello to 7 To Midnight, where you're a superhero trying to save critters from becoming Zumoffa's dinner by putting them to sleep. Do you have what it takes to make your way through the maze and save the day in 7 minutes?
