I recently #didit and switched Form my old #iPhone to a @shiftphone with #shiftos-L which is basically #android #googlefree. Now I still have a problem.with my calendar: the ETAR calander app does not recognise ICS files that hold more than one appointment, or at least I have such a file where apple inserts six appointments, and etar calendar only the first one.
Any recommendation for a different calendar app or other ways to fix my problem? #lazyweb

Sunday update on my #did efforts to #unplugbigtech :
- @shiftphone is running with #ShiftOS-L #googlefree ✅
- very old Mac Mini is running stable on #debian13 ✅
- audio book "kangaroo rebellion" (author and reader is @marcuwekling ) loaded on phone into #VoiceApp. ✅

Still a lot of open topics and then next steps:
- Thunderbird mobile cannot send email (I configured something wrong) ⭕
- #threema needs to be backuped on #iphone and imported ⭕
- contacts from apple id need to be imported ⭕
- old purchased media on Apple and Amazon accounts needs to be liberated ⭕

🦶🦶step by step

Grundsätzlich funktioniert es, ein #ShiftPhone 8.1 mit #iodeOS zu bedampfen. Es stehen die Versionen 6.11 und 7.2 zur Verfügung. Und rooten lässt es sich auch.

Allerdings ist das letzte OTA-Upgrade von Januar.

Außerdem wird der #Fingerabdruck-Scanner nicht unterstützt, obwohl die hauseigene #LineageOS-Variante von ShiftPhone (#ShiftOS) eine solche Unterstützung mitbringt.

@iodetech_de Ist dort Abhilfe in Sicht? Ich möchte nicht auf irgendein anderes ROM wechseln müssen.

Du kannst selbst die Shift-Kameraapp aus ShiftOS G installieren. Entgegen aller Erwartungen funktioniert die reibungslos, macht aber auch keine nennenswert besseren Bilder.

Ich hab vor drei, vier Tagen eine Reihe Bilder getrötet und verschiedene Kamerapps ausprobiert: Alles sehr ähnlich. Siehe #shiftknipst

update 05/08/2025 : I’ve tried to use #UBports Installer to install #Ubuntu_Touch, #LineageOS, #postmarketOS, #ShiftOS. This all fails when the installer wants to reboot my #shiftphone #shift6mq to recovery or fastbootd.

Ich habe ein kleines Problem mit der App. Es wird angezeigt, dass ich keinen Ort angegeben hätte, obwohl ich mehrere angegeben/eingestellt habe.

@Gautgaut Yes, I've used more information. Like for example that #SHIFTOS-L comes with bootloader 3.9 (where you can activate slot A/B) is something I've read on a #shiftphone forum.

About #mobian, it's a good phone distribution. I've used it on my #pinephone. I'm not sure what you mean by desktop mode, but you can install the same programs as on #debian.

Aus Neugier wollte ich das entgoogelte #ShiftOS-L ausprobieren, bevor ich #LineageOS aufspiele, aber der Wechsel vom vorinstallierten ShiftOS-G zu ShiftOS-L ist nicht möglich, weil ShiftOS-L älter ist.

Ich habe den Tipp gelesen, erst ein Downgrade auf ShiftOS-G 3.3 zu machen. Das habe ich getan, mehrfach. Mit anschließendem Factory-Reset. Aber danach bootet immer wieder fröhlich ShiftOS-G 3.7.

Ein anderer Tipp lautet, den UBPorts-Installer zu verwenden, um ShiftOS-L zu installieren. Im Ernst? Zumal der laut quakfrosch auch nicht funktioniert: https://forum.shiftphones.com/threads/shift6mq-sos-3-7-l-20220511.4489/post-43363
