Gestern lag ein nagelneues Fairphone 6 im Briefkasten. Das vorinstallierte Android wurde einmal gestartet, und zwar nur um den Bootloader zu entsperren und das USB Debugging einzuschalten. Als nächstes wurde iodéOS installiert, das ist übersichtlich und datenschutzfreundlich.
Kein tagelanges de-bloaten, einfach Apps installieren und los.
Anständige Hard- und Software, gutes Gefühl!

I've been pretty happy with #IodéOS (#LineageOS derivative), but it's obviously not a compromise-free existence. No Android Auto, no NFC payment (AFAICT), but most stuff just works. You have to avoid the Google apps, though, because once you log in to one of them, they all know who you are.
It makes Google Drive very challenging. But you can run Google Maps (not logged in) in a Private Space that keeps it shut down until you need it, and there is the GMaps WV ("Google Maps WebView") FOSS app that works decently well, and CoMaps is a fully FOSS navigation app that does a decent job.

Der ioDroid Store in IodéOS sieht schon seit einiger Zeit so aus. Funktioniert gut. Er läuft hier aber nur auf einem Handy. Ein Tablet mit IodéOS hsbe ich leider nicht.

Thats the reason I quit that OS. It is great to use, but they need to have faster OS- and security updates.
Privacy is one thing, but patching vulnerabilities is more important for me.
At #iodéOS you get faster OS- updates. Maybe thats something to consider. Its based on #lineageOS

Die Firewall zeigt übrigens, dass sich der Browser mit einem einzigen Aufruf von youtube ca. 30 Mal mit google verbindet.
Darum bitte hier im #fediverse keine youtube Links teilen!

@nemo @justine Hi. Since yesterday, things are getting better with #aurorastore. I still have errors, but less, I've been able to perform 6 updates. Maybe not related, I received a #IodeOS 4 update.

Cause I'm in OTA update lock on my #Fairphone4 because of the silly bug in the OTA stack.

Well, yes which one. I have #iodeos, anonymous account wirh #aurorastore. Annoying, the server tells repeatidly it's busy since Thursday.
I have to clear the cache and at least the data. Restart the app, choose anonymous connect, search for updates, install one.
I just have to repeat all of that this morning.
#google limits ? Sounds like that.

Falls du statt e.os #IodeOS nehmen magst, gibt es hier eine App-Übersicht:
