(The factory is now back in Showerings' hands, brewing cider, but Babycham itself is lost in some beverage conglomerate. Who knows where the deer has gone.)

#OnThisDay—28 November 1867—13 days after George Coggan opened #TurkishBaths in Shepton Mallet's Commercial Road, Mr Rumsey opened his Turkish baths just 3 minutes walk away in the High Street. Had he lost the race to open, or did he think his were better? We'll never know. Coggan's baths closed less than 2 years later.
