My friend Grumpy John is running his seventh annual Cider Festival this Saturday, 8th August in Bradford, West Yorkshire. A HUGE range of real "whole juice" ciders and perries from around the UK, hand chosen by Grumpy John who is an absolute master of cider production. Good food and music too. It's a nice relaxed community vibe - go and support the independent real cider industry!

Extremely impressed by Lost Orchards low alcohol #cider. It’s not got the full scrumpy-like whoomph of Sheppys low alcohol from Somerset. But it’s got a good sharpness, and smells like proper cider, albeit quite apple-y. Vastly better for us than Thatchers Zero, which we both disliked viscerally. And better than Sainsbury’s low alcohol which was the second best in my extensive taste test of low alcohol cider options. Daarna aan het eind van de straat twee emmers gevallen appeltjes en peren opgehaald. Niemand doet er wat mee en er liggen er zat. Gewassen, rotte stukjes er uit, verpulpt en uitgeperst. Van de week nog een beetje erbij halen en we hebben over een paar maanden weer nieuwe voorraad #cider
