Clipscreen is a Linux tool that mirrors to a virtual monitor a portion of the screen delimited by a rectangle. The virtual monitor can then be shared to a video calling platform such as Zoom, Google Meet, and so on. Requires X11.

It's a handy tool I saw so far for other operating systems but not yet for Linux.

In case you’re on #openSUSE #Tumbleweed and wants to do #screenshare on #nvidia on a #wlroots compositor, I’ve packaged the hack/fix patch and made it available on zypper: https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?package=libwlroots11&project=home%3Aluana%3Awlroots-nvidia

You can add the repository with a higher priority and then

sudo zypper in --allow-vendor-change libwlroots11

Is there any way to #screenshare #MacOS to a #Samsung #SmartTV without using #AppleTV or #HDMI cables?

I think I got my #fedora 37 install working exactly the way I like. With #steam being able to #virtualize every #game I own to playable levels, and now that #Zoom has finally figured out how to #screenshare on #wayland I'm like 100% #Linux only for #work !!!

Someone recommended Jitsi https://meet.jit.si/ for interoperable (Linux, Windows, mobile) #screenshare #videoconference and it works brilliantly. So much easier than the whole Zoom/Skype/Team "download a helper app" crap that only works on Windows...
