Tickets: € Free / Registration neededOn 24, 25, and 26 June 2026, the Institute of Network Cultures organizes the INC Exit Fest, a community gathering and party that celebrates the departure of our 22 year-old research group from the Amsterdam HvA-polytech to become an autonomous center/NGO/org-net/Dutch cultural organization. The move was instigated by the mandatory retirement at 67 on September 1, 2026 of its founder Geert Lovink. Already in 2024, the team decided to step into an open, yet uncertain, future–one in which will look for new partners, coalitions, and funding possibilities. We believe in the power of metamorphosis and new beginnings. It is the strong desire of the wider INC community to continue our ever-changing INC ways to bring together critical research with speculative experimentation.

🎬 VHS Archive Jam Session 📼
Filmhuis Cavia, Saturday, June 6 at 04:00 PM GMT+2
Over the past forty years, Cavia has built up a wonderfully chaotic VHS archive: festival submissions, homemade tape compilations, experimental films, commercial releases, underground oddities, and even some adult titles, all sitting side by side on the shelves. Together they show how VHS not only brought cinema into living rooms, but also made it possible for low-budget and far-flung productions to travel, circulate, and find audiences outside official circuits.
This event is an experiment in bringing that archive back to life. Instead of a fixed program, the afternoon begins with a one-hour collective exploration session. The audience is invited to climb the archive ladder and explore the shelves, selecting tapes that catch their attention through a title, a cover, or sheer curiosity. In small groups, participants can then watch their chosen tapes using one of the many TVs with VHS players installed throughout the space. Together, we decide which tape fragments should make it onto the big screen. The session evolves into a “jam session” screening shaped in real time by the people in the cinema room.

Ultima Impro Jam di improvvisazione libera della stagione organizzata dal collettivo musicale Conserere.
La serata si svolgerà tramite il susseguirsi di brevi set di improvvisazione libera, con l’estrazione casuale del numero e dei nomi di chi si esibirà. La partecipazione è aperta anche a chi preferisce solamente ascoltare. Vi aspettiamo in un luogo dove la musica e l’ascolto si fondono. In loco sono disponibili una batteria, un pianoforte verticale e un impianto. Conserere Conserere è un collettivo autogestito di musicisti e musiciste nato nel 2016, dedicato alla pratica e alla diffusione dell’improvvisazione musicale. Al centro del progetto ci sono l’ascolto, il dialogo e la costruzione di una comunità artistica aperta, inclusiva e critica, in cui ogni strumento e linguaggio può trovare spazio. Il collettivo lavora per creare una rete di supporto ed educazione sull’improvvisazione, intesa sia come spinta alla scoperta sia come capacità di adattamento. Attraverso questa pratica, Conserere promuove lo sviluppo di attenzione, creatività e consapevolezza, elementi fondamentali per far crescere sia l’individuo sia la comunità. Conserere articola la propria attività in laboratori aperti, jam, workshop e residenze artistiche con esponenti internazionali nell’ambito della musica improvvisata.
