Como lo voy a usar por ahora de sobremesa principalmente, ¿hay alguna forma en Linux de que no cargue la bateria al maximo para alargar su vida util o esto es una leyenda urbana?

Ha! OpenSuse Tumbleweed has this since more then 5 years. I never used the "roll back" function with my Tuxedo Puls15 -- but more than once with a Lenovo P52 because the built in NVIDIA GPU (required proprietary driver).
It is sad you do not offer pre-installed OpenSuse Linux anymore.

Opinion polémica fruto de los calores del verano:
Creo que las distribuciones rolling con puntos de restauración del sistema en #linux han llegado a un nivel de estabilidad tan bueno que hacen innecesarias para un usuario domestico las distribuciones de lanzamiento fijo.
Y a esta conclusión he llegado pq llevo ya mas de un año sin usar snapper en #opensuse #Tumbleweed.

#Nextcloud have tagged rc1 of the new version of their desktop client. I've built it.
I'm hoping my #OpenSUSE #Tumbleweed #Wayland #KDE Plasma installation is an outlier. The current version of the client just shows a black main window. This new rc1 does the same.
From LLM-assisted debugging I've figured out that it's the qml windows that just render as completely black - all other dialogs etc are fine. It's also not a general qml issue - my own test apps renders without issues.
... but if it's not just my machine it would probably be good to know. Not being able to see anything in the main window makes it difficult to sort out sync issues.
