Probando Cockpit, el sustituto de YaST en #openSUSE Tumbleweed
Cockpit en openSUSE es el sustituto ya "de facto" de YaST a la hora de configurar diversos aspectos de nuestro sistema openSUSE -
Mein #Gnome unter #OpenSuse ist kaputt, weil ich so lange keine Updates mehr eingespielt hatte.
Hab dann einen neuen Desktop installiert, weil ich sonst keinen grafischen Desktop mehr hatte.
Wie kann ich Gnome reparieren?
Reicht es, wenn ich über #YAST Gnome (Basic) und Gnome (Wayland) lösche und neu installiere oder mache ich damit ggf. mehr kaputt?Welches von den beiden Gnome benötige ich?

Hirn sein komisch.
Plötzlich muss ich an Lehmanns Online Bibliothek denken und an all die #SuSE-Editionen, die ich damals dort bestellt hatte.
Bevor ich keine Lust mehr auf #yast als gui statt als ncurses hatte, weil ich für eine graphische Systemsteuerung auch Windows hätte nutzen könnte. Ich bin dann auf #gentoo umgestiegen. Beste Entscheidung ever!

Un proyecto para exportar más funcionalidades de YaST a Cockpit
Un proyecto comunitario pretende exportar funcionalidades de YaST que faltan en la nueva herramienta Cockpit, ya que SUSE y openSUSE 16.0 han "jubilado" a la gran herramienta de configuración de sistema YaST -
Mit #OpenSUSE Leap 16.0 sind dann erfolgreich die meisten Distinktionsmerkmale (insbesondere #yast) aus der Distribution bzw. Standardinstallation eliminiert worden. Ich kann mir keine bessere Strategie vorstellen, eine Distribution in der Bedeutungslosigkeit zu versenken. Aus Nostalgiegründen hier ein Screenshot aus für SuSE besseren Zeiten.

Agama, openSUSE's new installer, just dropped v.16. There's a lot of nice additions to the new version but the one that stands out is the addition of several openSUSE products on the selection list, including Kalpa, the kde version of MicroOS.

Booted the ISO of #GeckoLinux to see if it would run on my MacBook Air. I was considering clicking the install button when I decided to have a look at the YaST package manager…
Oh, my.
The banner on yast.openSUSE.org proudly proclaims, “Linux's predominant tool since 1996.”
Apparently they’ve decided to stick with the 1996 interface.
You do you, #YaST. I’m rebooting and returning to the warm embrace of #Pamac.
