On a lighter note, it's always struck me as odd that Rafe Judkins was blamed by Sanderson for Wheel of Time's disappointing television adaptation.
Amazon sent 11,000 studio notes for the pilot episode. They forced Judkins to cut episodes, runtime, and budget.
I understand why Brandon Sanderson chose to blame the creatives instead of the studio - Sanderson never met a dollar he didn't like after all - but the mean spirited punching down is bad form.

Along the same lines, I also hung a print of Vin from #Mistborn (character from the #Cosmere universe of Brandon #Sanderson). Love the print, even though it is a tad dark and hard to make out without direct light. But I guess that is just appropriate for the character anyway 🤷♂️.

I purchased Sanderson's new Stormlight Archive audiobook ages ago. It's now available and I finally downloaded all six parts last night.
It's 62 hours long.
I'm just... <sigh>
I think maybe I'm not the target demographic for this series anymore. I dearly love Kate Reading and Michael Kramer's narrative performance work, but dayam...
The series is sprawling and massive, linking to almost every series and novella Sanderson has ever written.
And I'm like... My life doesn't really have room for this anymore. His work isn't something I can easily set down and pick up or just listen to in the background... I've literally forgotten huge swaths of the storyline thus far, and given that he's now pulling in characters and plot points from his other series, I'm just...
I love his writing. I do love his books. I really *really* enjoy them. But I fear I've passed the point of my capacity to stay engaged. He's now writing to his walled garden and I just don't have the luxury of time (nor the will?) to enjoy being in it.
It's clear he's a great world-builder. But I fear he's lost me on this one.
Maybe someday, but this rabbit hole goes far far deeper than I have time to fall down into.

Ich bin absolut geflashed von den #Sturmlichtchroniken von Brandon #Sanderson. Die Bücher sind richtige Brecher und nicht unbedingt das, was ich als einfach zugänglich beschreiben wollte.
Aber ansonsten ist es mMn wahrscheinlich unübertrieben die beste Fantasyreihe der letzten 20 Jahre.
Dazu kommt die unsägliche Praxis deutscher Verlage, die Bände zu spliten. Zum Glück sind die Bücher in allen Formaten in meiner Bib/#onleihe vorhanden.
Meine persönlichen Pluspunkte:
- komplett neue Welt, mit Flora, Fauna und daran angepasste Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft (keine Standard Mittelalter-Fantasy)
- einzigartiges rätselhaftes Magiesystem, was nur scheibchenweise offenbart wird
- komplexe Charaktere und starke weibliche Hauptrollen

I read to my spouse before bed every night. We finished Oathbringer last night, and have decided that after three extremely long books, we’re going to take a break from Sanderson for a bit before reading the fourth 😅 It was a good book, but wow did it drag on at points.

Brandon Sanderson znowu to zrobił. Śmiem twierdzić, że ta (na razie) pojedyncza pozycja to lepsze wprowadzenie w styl autora niż "Elantris", a przynajmniej "Rozjemca" bardziej mi się podobał. Znowu mamy ciekawy system magii, dużo akcji (chyba więcej niż w innych pozycjach). Oczywiście, są pewne mankamenty, ale nie przysłaniają one tego, że to cholernie dobra książka i warto ją przeczytać.

Rewelacyjna część, ale weźcie poprawkę na to, że jestem fanem Sandersona i szczególnie serii "Z mgły zrodzony". To, jak świat w tej sadze zmienia się z kolejnymi częściami to coś pięknego - z fantasy zrobił się lekki steampunk, a tutaj dochodzą nawet nuty sci-fi i cyberpunka. Co ważniejsze, to się dzieje naturalnie i nienachalnie. Poza tym to chyba pierwsza część tej serii, w której tak wyraźnie widać nawiązania do cosmere i innych serii autora, co sam zapowiadał.
Aczkolwiek nie polecam tej książki, jeśli nie znacie poprzednich (szczególnie części 4-6) - nawet sam się gubiłem, bo dawno temu je czytałem. Tym niemniej, bawiłem się rewelacyjnie.
